Absolutely awful. We booked 2 family rooms. Having stayed in the same hotel in Dijon we knew what to except but when we arrived arrived to the room it was not the same. The top bunk was not suitable for a 4yr old as the guard only just came above the mattress. The toilet poured out water from the back with every flush, telling the receptionist she didn’t fully understand so offered me some towels. We just had to flush & run every time. Then there was the noise, yes from the road but could handle that. It was the party going on from other guest, there were about 25 people drinking & playing loud music till after midnight and then another guest playing music on the balcony till 1.30am and no management to complain to. The room was so hot and stuffy due to no air con and we were unable to open the windows which means no one got much sleep as we had to leave at 6.30. Not great, definitely would not recommend

Absolutely awful

This isa basic hotel with private facilities but no in room facilities for making a cuppa. No air-conditioning and makes our Travelodge in the UK look great. However the girl on reception greeted us well and while breakfast was basic it was sufficient.

You get what you pay for.

A simple but good place to stay overnight halfway from the Netherlands to the Dordogne
Always found nice people to welcome us. Easy to find from freeway as well as Route Nationale.
As we use this hotel only to sleep and have morning breakfast the small room with tiny bathroom fits us for one-night during the trip

So first things first, Premiere Classe is something of a lesson in you get what you pay for. It’s cheap because it’s very basic, but if you’re just looking for a bed for the night it’s a good option.

First, the positives: the room was very clean, the bed and pillows were comfortable and we all slept well.

There’s a TV in the room, the shower/toilet en suite was also nice and clean and the shower was good, although the temperature did fluctuate a little bit.

Breakfast was what you would expect for the price (€5.90, or about £5) – a buffet of two kinds of cereals with milk, croissants, toast, breakfast biscuits, jam and butter, juice, hot drinks from a machine, yoghurt. All self serve and you can go up and get more if you want. The dining area was very clean and the food was decent.

Negatives: the entrance is easy to miss, but as it’s on a roundabout and the roads nearby are quiet it’s  not a problem to turn around and have another go.

It’s right by a main road, which can be quite noisy although our sleep wasn’t disturbed by it.

As far as I could tell, there is no lift, but there are ground floor rooms. So if you have any accessibility needs it’s worth stipulating you need a ground floor room.

Other considerations: It’s laid out like a typical American motel, in that all the rooms open straight out onto the pavement or balcony walkway if you’re on the first or second floor. This wasn’t a problem for us, but I know some people don’t like it.

We took a family room for three people with a double bed and a single. The single is above the double, though, like a bunk bed. Because our child is only three, my husband slept in the bunk as it wouldn’t have been safe to put a child that young up there. It was a bit of a squeeze for  my husband , but he did just about fit!

The room isn’t big, which was fine for us but if we’d had a baby or younger child and needed to set up a cot, there wouldn’t have been enough room.

Pets are accepted for a nominal nightly fee.

A good option for a cheap bunk

Arrived at 17:15. Finally got checked in to the room at 18:05. Queued outside in the boiling sun whilst the manager made very slow progress with his waiting guests.
The room was tiny. 
The noise of traffic continued all night.
The breakfast (“all you can eat”) would have been ok if there was anything you wanted to eat.
Suggest you find somewhere else to stay.

Cheap- but you know why

The room was very hot and we could not open the window because the road noise was just to much.  The location was good easy to get to from the motorway and only a short distance away was a shopping centre with Hypermarket and various food outlets and cheap fuel.

Hot night in Saran

A poor quality to match the price, 1 thin towel, hangers on a rail attached to the ladder to the bunk bed, thin walls. The only redeeming feature was Peter the night ( evening?) manager, a very cheerful, helpful guy. The hotel is very close to the motorway, you can hear it all night.

its a cheap hotel, I mean cheap

We stayed here during a heatwave when temperatures were touching 40 degrees. I appreciate being a budget hotel there may not be aircon but the room was like an oven. There is no way to cool down securely as the window and door both lead out to a public  walkway. There are no fans in the room.
Lots of noise from road, neighbouring houses and other guests throughout the night. We heard breaking glass and car alarms overnight.
Someone tried to get into our car.


Not good

The location is on a roundabout and with a dual carriageway running alongside. Consequently it is pretty noisy, especially if it is a warm night and you need to leave a window open (no aircon). We asked for a quiet room but it was still very noisy - we suspect that they ignored our request and put us in the next available room. This hotel is very tired and could do with some serious TLC, e.g. the bathroom door wouldn't close due to poorly aligned hinges, the decore was tired, there was a hole in the floor covering. 

cheap, but pay the extra and stay somewhere more pleasant

Having been disappointed, not with the Lemon Hotel in Arques, but with the lack of response from the parent company when we claimed our "free night" after having chalked up another ten visits, we decided to use only Premier Class Hotels on our latest journey through France. This was our first stop, but our experience was no different from our previous uses of this chain. However, we were informed that the chain - along with Campanile and others, is owned by not just a Chinese businessman or group, but by the Chinese government. All that I could discover online that they are all part of the Louvre Hotels Group which, in turn,is a subsidiary of Jin Jiang International Holdings Co., Ltd., the 5th hospitality group in the world. As disciples of Jesus, and knowing the level of persecution of our brothers and sisters in Him, in China, we will not be booking any further nights with any of the groups involved!

The only real problem with this stay was the level of noise that went on beyond midnight. The fact that there is no-one on duty after 2130 obviously contributes to this. Resident supervision would allow someone with some level of authority to speak with those who insist on making intrusive noise, without any apparent thought for their fellow guests!

Breakfast was acceptable, but nothing special. The two members of staff with whom we dealt, were pleasant and helpful. This time we knew how to access our pre-booked room using the automatic system - as there is a member of staff available only between specific hours.

I discovered that these establishments are owned by the Chinese Government! (according to the receptionist)
