We had planned this trip into the Perigord region of France and choose the city of Sarlat as our base for a few days.  Not knowing about the region, we trusted the reviews on TA.  I am so happy we did this.  The building dates back to the 1550's.  The current owner is a really nice man and very helpful ( great sense of humor, plus he speaks English)  The facility itself is worth the visit, decorated very nicely, a huge room by French standards.  There are some steps,( remember 1550, no lifts) but easily handled.  It is very centrally located as to getting around Sarlat on foot.( Park your car in his garage a few block away and walk around this wonderful town.)  We plan on staying here again next spring as we visit more sites in the Perigord.

A wonderful, very small B&B

We arrived at the hotel late Saturday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised how close and centrally located - just off the main street and around the corner from the covered market, restaurants and sights. We were greeted by Monsieur Hervé, the owner, who took us to our two large rooms which were very nicely renovated to modern conveniences (especially liked the showers). My friend and I were lucky to have booked the only 2 available bedrooms which used be belonged to his 2 adult children who have moved away. There is also a restaurant on site which we ate dinner on our last night. I would definitely return to stay at Les Chambers du Manoir upon my next visit to Sarlat.

Charming B&B in the heart of Sarlat

The B & B is in a great location in the middle of Sarlat, the room was dark and had some lovely period furniture the parking can be a bit of a problem but that can be overcome by paying for secure parking which is only a short walk away, breakfast was a little basic but all in all it was a pleasant experience staying here.

Sarlat is beautiful and well worth the visit. The place is full of history & provides lots to explore.

In terms of the B&B, sadly this is not 4 star & is very, very over-priced.

Whilst this is a charming 15th century building it is in desperate need of refurbishment (very tired & not clean enough for me!)

Paid €430 for two night stay - expected something better for the money. 

Would recommend you ask the owner about any supplementary costs at the start or be surprised (parking etc). 

Visit to the Dordogne 

We spent 2 nights in Sarlat which is a charming medieval town. The location of the B&B was perfect. However, this is definitely NOT a 4 star B&B and would not recommend staying here. Complaints are; NO air con in 35C heat at night, but was advertised having a/c. When discussed with owner we were told 'It was not his fault' but gave us a fan.Could not open windows for air due to noise from restaurant. Bathroom had spider web on ceiling and is in desperate need of renovation. Was not impressed with half empty bottle of baby gel in shower. Breakfast was in general very poor. Second day we checked out early to eat elsewhere.
