It's not easy to operate a business so I try to be as patient as possible when it comes to customer service. This place is the worst on customer service. We tried to contact the owner through emails to let them know our arrival time, no reply. We arrived between the check in time from 5 to 7, waited an hour and left 4 messages, no answers. We contacted Booking.com and the owner finally called back with an attitude. We went in the room and found no hair dryer, half toilet roll for a week. We used WhatsApp to contact the owner as she suggested and emailed her several times, no reply. 

The worst staying experience

We stayed in the "Fontaine 2" one-bedroom apartment for a week, using the excellent central location as a faultless "home away from home" for a week's exploring of the Dordogne region.

The apartment was clean and well maintained - looking relatively new - with excellent quality (some new) appliances and a fully equipped kitchen including the much-needed coffee machine.  Combined washer/dryer was a blessing and was given a workout.  Minor suggestion would be to provide more dishwasher tablets and washing powder capsules to guests staying for longer periods (as was our stay).

Bed was comfortable but pillow selection could include a softer option - my wife found them too firm - I thought they were fine. Separate shower in modern bathroom was great.  

Lounge and dining space is airy and the multiple opening windows let in both light and fresh air.  Air-conditioning (cooling at this time of year) worked well and was relatively quiet.

The owner, Alex, was most obliging and friendly and could not have been more helpful.  
Instructions on where to park and how to gain access to the apartment were clear and unambiguous and Alex met us at mutually convenient time to arrange payment and to provide additional suggestions to those already well-documented in the explanatory folders of instructions and restaurant / sightseeing leaflets.

The apartment is on the second floor, overlooking a quiet square on its northern side and the side entrance of the church on the other. Stairs provide access, so if you have heavy bags, take the process slowly.  Recent heart surgery meant I certainly did - without difficulty.  Church bells were the usual French / European charm that one either loves or not - we enjoy them and miss them, now that we are home again.

We will certainly stay here again on our next trip to the region.

Excellent amenities, clean, comfortable, friendly host,  great "base" for a week's exploring

We travelled as a family of 4 (with young kids) to Sarlat as a part of a 2 week holiday in June this year and one of the highlights of our trip was the stay in Le Porche Sarlat. From the beginning communication with Alex was very easy.. Alex is super responsive and very helpful. The apartment itself was tastefully done and incredibly well maintained. We had everything we needed in the house. The location is amazing.. very central in Sarlat, less than 2 mins walking from parking,  yet tucked away from the Main Street... and it’s next to a lovely old chapel. It’s one of the few places that’s definitely going to leave you with a warm, cozy feeling. 
Alex not only was available for all the many questions I had about the place but also helped us make reservations at a great little Michelin star restaurant in Sarlat. Believe it or not We never did meet Alex in person but the strange part is we felt like we met him everyday!!! We travel a lot as a family and have stayed in many different countries in all kinds of places - from airbnb, to five stars, to boutique hotels and budget accommodation. Our  experience of interacting with Alex is one of the best till date. Needless to say we loved the place and all in all we were quite sorry to leave. 
I would totally recommend staying at one of Alex’s apartments.

Perfect stay for family 

Spent 5 days in Le Porche Sarlat, the owner Alex met us at the apartment and explained everything plus suggestions were to visit and eat. We stayed in the garden apartment which was very modern with all the facilities you need. It is in a great location in a medieval square. There are some nice restaurants nearby, plus we found a little café to have breakfast each morning, (omelette, croissant, juice and coffee 9€) really enjoyed are stay in sarlat and would recommend / return.

Great stay

I can't say enough about this apartment. It is immaculate, comfortable, has everything you need. Good light, faces a beautiful piazza. I would stay again in a minute. The owner is real nice and provided several brochures to sites in the area. A beautiful stay in Sarlat.

Excellent

This is right in the  middle of the medieval city and is convenient to all the surrounding attractions such as the caves, chateaux, gardens and the many other attractions of this part of France.  Supremely comfortable, well appointed with modern bathroom and kitchenette.  You will not go wrong.  The proprietor is charming and accommodating.

Excellent location in the heart of Sarlat

We stayed for a week in July this year and were so happy we had decided on Le Porche de Sarlat as our base for a variety of day and half day tours in the Dordogne region of France.  (The apartment was only a 5 minute walk to the meeting point for our small group day tours).   It was our last week of a 6 week European tour, the first 5 being pretty much on the move the whole time and we were looking forward to a more relaxing and restful end to our holiday before heading back to Australia.
Although the building is some 500 or more years old (not sure whether the plaque above the door read 1383 or 1585), the apartments are new and very modern and amazingly well equipped.  Notwithstanding, the location within the old walled town meant ready walking access to dozens of excellent cafes and restaurants so all our evening meals were eaten out and we really didn't make the most of the excellent kitchen facilities the apartment offered, although the washer/dryer certainly got its fair share of use after 5 weeks of washing socks and undies in the shower!
July was the beginning of a very hot summer in much of Europe and southern France was not excluded from this but our cool air conditioned apartment offered a wonderful respite after our regular sojournes.  
Alex and his wife Sophie (the owners) were wonderful and friendly hosts and happily met us at the railway station when we arrived and ferrying us to our apartment, having previously advised us taxis are a little thin on the ground in Sarlat.  (Actually it was Sophie that met us when we arrived - Alex it turned out was otherwise caught up with one of France's World Cup lead up games on TV!)
I highly recommend a stay at Le Porche de Sarlat.

Our home away from home

This place is perfectly situated and we enjoyed exploring Sarlat (like some thing out of a fairy tale or a Harry Potter film set!) - although set in an old building once inside everything was ultra modern. Lovely beds and linens, lots of suggestions from Alex the owner on where
to go and local restaurants. Great equipment especially for us the washing machine and dryer which we made full use of as we had been travelling for a week prior to arriving here. 
The walk in shower was just lovely. Really we could not fault anything and we will certainly be staying again, when we are next in this part of the world. The only thing that we would have liked is the ground floor apartment which has a small garden - our apartment on the second floor was a bit of a climb after a few beers!  You can park locally for free (Alex will tell you where) - but we would suggest if you have a lot of luggage try to decant it into one case as although the car park is only a short distance away, it’s a struggle with a lot of luggage and a small dog!
