We really enjoyed this restaurant which is located in downtown Sarzeau, right behind the church. The products are of great quality and the cuisine is creative and delicious, all for a reasonable price. The menu changes regularly. They also have a nice wine menu. 

Fine french cuisine

Sadly we only stayed one night, but will defiantly return.

The hotel is quaint and perfectly situated within the small town. Our room was on the 3rd floor, really big with a double aspect and big comfy king bed.

The restaurant is really good and was packed on the night we stayed. Would highly recommend reserving a table when you book the hotel.

Quaint Hotel Super Restaurant

We booked Le Sage from previous Trip Advisor reviews and by and large we were happy with our choice.  There was free car parking right outside the hotel except on Saturdays when the car had to be moved to make way for the weekly Market.  This was no great hassle as it is a short walk behind the hotel to the public car park (also free). The market is well worth a visit.  We ate dinner on one evening and it was excellent. Breakfasts were what one expects in France and scrambled or boiled eggs are produced to order. Beware Thursday mornings when the Bin Men arrive at 6.30am.  The clock on the church just across the road begins chiming at 7am followed by the bells calling the faithful to prayer - but this all adds to the charm of Sarzeau.
The only real criticism is the size of the wardrobe which is tiny to say the least - my shirts ended up hanging from the curtain rail.    The owners were charming and helpful.

A pleasant hotel

A small and friendly hotel right in the centre of the village, a great location and we managed to park outside the front door every day. We had everything that we needed, the beds were very comfortable, the room very clean and the bathroom had a good shower. We were in a room at the front with a lovely view of the church, our only criticism would be the lack of drawers and storage, the wardrobe was only big enough for 4 hangers. The staff were friendly and the food in the restaurant was very good.

A great location

The hotel is classified as three star and it exceeded our expectation in that regard. The rooms are individually decorated, clean and well presented. The size was adequate and the bathroom had a very good shower. It is easy to find in the centre of this small town and street parking outside or public parking around the corner seemed pretty easy.

The restaurant is very good and we enjoyed an excellent dinner off the 33 Euro menu. Including pre-dinner drink, meal, wine and coffee the bill was a shade over 100 Euros, but delicious. The dishes are elegant and well presented, erring towards nouvelle cuisine in style. Breakfast was also very good, a buffet, but the produce seemed high quality. Scrambled eggs individually prepared were a must for us.

The town is lovely to wander around with many old buildings and upmarket boutique shops and artisan businesses.

Great restaurant too

We went for lunch and had the 35 Euro menu . I am not sure the waiter genuinely didn’t t listen to our order or disliked Anglais. The first mistake was with my husbands apperitiv when the correct one arrived it was a short measure. My main course was turbot but a steak arrived. The lady that owns the hotel replaced the knife and fork leaving the original sitting on the table , as though I was just being awkward which I can assure you I was not , I just don t eat meat . There are far better places in the area to have a 35 Euro menu . We were not sure exactly what another table were unhappy with , it could have been the exceptionally slow service or something else . We all had the feeling when we left that we won t be returning
