We only stayed one night but the experience at Belle Vue was a beautiful time. We arrived late but right away felt the warm atmosphere of a family owned business/hotel. We stayed Saturday night and departed Sunday and were very fortunate to be able to dine and enjoy the chef's magnificent creations at their restaurant! I enjoyed the cordon bleu and my friend loved the goat cheese salad, the desserts, and all touches were also beautiful. The stay was very pleasant and it felt very cozy. The grounds were also very quiet and peaceful. It's definitely a place I would stay longer because you are surrounded by nature in a quiet neighborhood. The place is also run and owned by a young couple so it's nice to also get the local touch and hospitality.

Beautiful experience at Belle Vue

My wife and I (and our two dogs) stayed there for 4  nights half board with a package deal through Neckermann travel (i.e. Thomas Cook). 11-room hotel in a small village in the Alsace, near the Vosges. Accomodation (a suite) was splendid, recently renovated with a luxurious bath room (bath and shower, separate toilet), two tv's, a nice little balcony on the south side... Very clean! Hospitable staff who know their what they are doing. And the food at dinner time...exquisite regional cuisine! Breakfast also very good, with home made bread, good coffee (althoughsometimes not hot enough...). Two negative points: we had to pay 15€ per night per dog, which is exaggerated. Adn the lighting construction above the bed was, although relatively new, in need of some repairs. Still all in all very recommendable.

Beautiful hideaway with delectable food

This is our second visit, and we are already planning another longer visit. The food is outstanding, the staff are helpful despite the language differences. The weather was superb so both dinner and breakfast were served outside on the terrace. The ambience is so relaxed that we could have stayed there for hours drinking coffee and people watching.

Outstanding

If you are looking for a small, boutique hotel with excellent food in a remote location then this is it. Just driving to get here was very pretty, through small villages and wild cats on the road.

The hotel itself is picturesque and the views from the upper rooms are widesweeping across the forest. The duplex rooms are more traditionally decorated, but the beds are comfortable.

The food was very good, we were staying on a DDB rate that included the wine to go with the respective course. By the end of the meal we were very pleasantly full. The pidgeon breast with mushroom risotto was delicately flavoured and extremely well cooked. the cheese board had lots of different local cheeses.

Breakfast was the typical european buffet, with cold meats, bread, croissants, etc. The jams were very nice.

Worth a visit.

Must try while visiting Vosges/Alsace

La Belle Vue is a small and charming hotel located in the community of Saulxures, on the border of Alsace and Vosges. It's in a wooded and mountainous area. The building is contemporary with large glass parties (to enjoy the superb views) and lots of rustic wooden elements. It matches very well with its location. 
The hotel has 11 rooms in total , of which 4 standard rooms (33 m²) and 7 duplex rooms or suites (55 m²). All the rooms are nicely decorated, every room is different, with paintings (mixed techniques) and trompe l'oeil of the house-painter-friend Daniel Gerhardt.
Free wireless internet throughout the hotel.
Furthermore the Belle Vue has a gourmet restaurant. Guests can either book half board (an excellent 4-course meal and complementary cheese) or bed and breakfast and eat dinner à la carte. The halfboard dinners (19 euro) were good, the à la carte dinners (starting at 31 euro) were excellent.
Breakfast is a small buffet with home-made confitures (I loved the 'confiture de quetsches' while my husband preferred the 'confiture de coings à la vanille de Madagascar). Furthermore cheeses and cold meats, yoghurts, freshly squeezed orange juice, pain de campagne, croissants and viennoiseries. Hot drinks are freshly made on request (coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk, ...).

We booked one of their duplex rooms which consisted of a small entrée with dresser and minibar, a sitting area with a comfy couch and TV. A flight of stairs leads to the upper floor where, again, we had a sitting area with two armchairs, a desk, and a chest of drawers. Further in the room a super kingsize bed (2m x 2m) and a second TV. Ensuite a large bathroom with corner tub, separate shower, double sink and separate toilet. Luxury bathing products.
Double glazed windows on both floors, individually adjustable central heating for sitting/sleeping areas and bathroom. Everything was spotlessly clean.
Only negative point, in case you're a light sleeper (which I am), these duplex rooms face the church and the clock of the belltower jingles every quarter, also at night.
