Friendly & welcoming hosts made our 4 day stay a pleasure.
Souillac is a good central location for the Dordogne
Le Manoir is in a quiet location on the outskirts of the town
Excellent evening meal offered some nights of the week.

Excellent B&B

What a fabulous time we had at Le Manoir. The owners Jan and Marion are absolutely delightful and made us feel so welcome it was more like staying with very good friends. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing! Homemade yogurt and strawberry coulis with fresh bread, croissants, cheese and ham. A great start to the day. Thank you Jan and Marion we hope to return to Le Manoir again and would recommend you to our friends.

Lovely accommodation and exceptional owners!

We came to Le Manoir a couple weeks ago and couldn't ask for anything more. The rooms were brilliant, the pool was lovely, the location was great, very close to Souillac. We came to the area as it was our Nan's 80th birthday, she use to have a house there and we wanted to remind her of the area and the fun we use to have there. She thoroughly enjoyed herself and half of the reason was because of Jan and Marion, the owners, who took amazing care of us. You could go for the food, the location and the sun but you come back for Jan and Marion. If you're reading this thanks for everything! And again I couldn't urge anyone more to visit Le Manoir.

Perfection

Stayed for a week and weather not so good. Our initial room was a little dark but it was changed to a much lighter one. Location about 4kms from town but it had a nice pool which we didn't get the chance to use due to weather. 
Hosts particularly nice and informative about the region. Good breakfasts but could have benefitted from a living room for guests use (I think they are remedying this.

Great touring location and very informative hosts

We have spent 9 days at Le Manoir at the end of August. During the booking, the owner proposed us to take a gîte for 5 persons at the price of a gîte for two because of their unavailability. Ok, fine with us.

We then performed a bank wire transfer of the whole sum and regret that it was not possible to pay using a credit card, preventing us from having a cancellation insurance.

Upon arrival, the owner welcomed us and remained very cordial and available. The Manoir is well located, near many great places to visit. However, we were disappointed for several reasons:

- The owner informed us upon arrival that the dish washer was not functioning and that he locked the bedroom with single beds. That is not a very commercial attitude after having told us we would have a large gîte for two.
- While discovering the gîte, we realised that the bedroom remained closed with the shutter open and the sun shining in. The temperature was extremely hot and the owner minimised the issue. It is useless to say that we spent an horrible first night.
- According to the description of this gîte, a fridge with freezer is supplied. We opened the fridge and discovered that was not the case and regretted it very much in that hot period.
- In the evening, we sat in a sofa and realised that it had not been cleaned before our arrival. That was unexpected as the owner requests visitors to pay a supplementary fee for cleaning.
- Living in the gîte, we realised that there was not much light in the main room.
That is because large gîtes only have one door/window facing the north.
- There was no cell network available inside the gîte. The owner invited us to climb the garden to get a connection.
- The Wi-Fi was operational but not really usable in evenings when everyone use it. That was fine in the morning and in late evenings.
- The noise of cars circulating down into the street was annoying every morning. We were also surprised to hear the horn of trains entering the neighbouring tunnel or the air conditioning of other rooms (not available in the gîtes).

Considering the numerous gîtes located in this region, we shall go elsewhere the next time.
