This hotel is in the heart of the town centre of St Remy, very convenient for all attractions, bars and restaurants. Easy walk or cycle to complete the Van Gogh trail, visit the Hospital and Roman ruins. There is enough to keep you ocupied for a few days here and this is a good base for sleeping. It is on the main road near the church so there is some traffic noise, but no more than you would expect from a town centre location. The windows are shuttered, doulble glazed and there is air conditioning. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the hearty breakfast is served on the outside terrace on the first floor.

Best stop for Van Gogh visit

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of accommodation at a two star establishment.  The room was clean, the twin beds were comfortable, the bathroom quite adequate although the shower was tiny, as  a typical French shower. Wi-fi was only available on the terrace, which was fine as we spent quite a lot of time watching the world go by from there. Very conveniently situated, close to the bus terminus, and on the edge of the old city, across the road from Place de la Republique. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Reasonably priced, well situated hotel

My wife and I stayed at this hotel earlier this week. The bathroom was so unclean that my wife would not use the shower this morning. I discovered that old used bars of soap and shampoo packets had been left above the shower stall wall. Wi-Fi in the room was very slow or not working at all, unless I stepped outside into the hallway. The telephone in the room did not work properly. I could only call out and I could not be heard by my friend who was less than a mile away. When I complained to the woman at reception, she said that none of the phones were working and there was nothing she could do about it. After raising my voice a bit, the lady at reception did give me her cell phone to use to call my friend. Noise from the rooms next door was disturbing and could be heard throughout the night. The breakfast was rather sparse and unsuitable for anyone with special diet needs. However, the air conditioning in the room worked well. The advertised parking spaces on site were not adequate in number for all guests and I had to park some distance away. I would never stay in this hotel again.

Dirty Rooms

We spent two nights in Hotel du Cheval Blanc during our mini stay in the beautiful St Remy de Provence. 

Pros: 
+ Location. Right next to the town centre. Easy access to the town. Easy to find.
+ Service. Staff rather friendly and helpful. Missed a little bit of warm welcoming.

and then the cons:
- Parking. Hotel parking spaces are very limited. We were obliged to park our car pretty far from the hotel. But I guess we were not just lucky with the timing. 
- Really bad sewer smell in our room. Not a very good first impression.
- Noise isolation is poor. You will know what your neighbours are talking about or are doing.
- Price. Little bit pricey for what you get.

Great location, but not a value for your money

This very old, run down and desperately needing repair hotel has only two things going for it—convenient to the city centre and close parking for Saturday morning's market.  Be careful sitting on the toilet, the seat may fall off.  Thank goodness for the air conditioning which kept out the noise of the busy street.  Personally, I would pass on this one.
