This secluded hotel is just a short distance from all the little fairytale Alsace wine villages, but yet so far away.  No big tour buses, no crowds, just beautiful views and quiet.  Can't say enough good things....

Breakfast is plentiful with a beautiful selection, and dinners at the restaurant are just not to be missed.  Beautifully presented, top quality, and so delicious.  I will say that our waiter Alexandre was helpful, professional and SO personable.  Truly he made an already wonderful experience that much more special.

If you're headed to Alsace, I highly recommend

Second visit even better than the first!

The hotel is okey, clean and quite fresh... 

However there was no option for food.. the hotel has a restaurant but it was fully booked (well i think two people would have fit) but  they coudn't make an extra table for two people who stay in the hotel (also no room service available).. we arrived at 18;30 and the town hast only two restaurants. meaning we had to go back to another town 20 min drive for dinner.... 

I think as an hotel there should always be an option to take care of your guests, or at least call your guests to make sure that they are aware that the options in town are very limited. kinda of a shame because this didn't give us a welcome feeling!



Hotel is okey - but no option for food

The Room: look like new, spotless. I felt like the first person ever in the room.
Service: 1A friendly proud of what thy do, always helpful.
Food: Breakfast was good for 3 star as the hotel is not a 100 bed house but fresh juice, good coffee, fresh bread from the bakery, so for a 3 Star TOP, regional products.
Restaurant: I recommend the local menu and just trust the personnel, the menu is not big which is good, they focus on what they can do best.
SPA; was a highlight for 3 STAR, gigantic and very clean.

What a cute little hotel, with super friendly staff. We made a last minute reservation and everything was perfectly organized. We enjoyed the stay and the restaurant a few km away (cause the hotel restaurant was fully booked). Also our little dog felt at home :)

Great short break

Small hotel in the middle of Alsace, 10 min drive from Wineroad, 30 from Colmar. Very good evening restaurant with local cousine, needs reservation, always full.
Breakfast is Ok, but no green vegatables at all.
At spa not enough sunbed for customers, but swimming pool and finnish sauna are georgios.
Want to say about rooms. How we
 undrestand, part of rooms has  part not. It
 will be good, if customer could choose
 and know before, which kind of room he is
 booking.

Good Spa hotel for weekend stay

The hotel Spa Le Clos des Sources is situated in a cute small town nestled at the foot of the Haut Koenigsbourg Castle. The forest nearby is wonderful for taking long walks. Rooms are quite big and very comfortable decorated in a neutral but quite chic style, they all have King size beds which is quite rare in France... The spa facilities are wonderful and the food is organic. You just wish you could stay forever! The bar has a English pub feel and there are several nooks to enjoy drinks and a good book at the same time or good conversation with friends. It is just a very relaxing environment and everything is organized to foster this sense of relaxation and well-being. I highly recommend this hotel if you are in the region.

A wonderful place to stay

The place is nice, with small but authentic wooden rooms and a nice pool... but I was refused access to the restaurant ! They said it was full, and maybe it was, but given the fact I was an hotel guest and there was nothing else around, I just expected some kind of effort - even a sandwich, a later service or anything. They kept on repeating it was full and I had to book in advance, so it was my fault and they did not care. No food ! They simply do not have any idea at all of what hospitality is about.

No dinner

Pool is great. Breakfast is not very good and very expensice. Room was very hot when we arrived, but cooled fast when we opened windows. Why did the staff not do this? Beds are great. It is a very good hotel, but that is what you may expect for the price.

Our stay in July 2019

We really enjoyed an excellent couple of nights in the Clos des Sources.
Arriving by car, we were pleased to find plenty of parking space.  The welcome at the reception was charming (E, F, D, Swiss German and perhaps others) and everything was clearly explained (and printed on an explanatory sheet).  Not far from the reception is a lift going to all floors.  The décor is modern but tasteful (no sign of the kitsch usually loved in Alsace).  After a short walk round the village, we went to try out the spa - all included in the price.  Everything clean and simple to use.  Whilst we were there, the pool and spa were never over-crowded.
The evenings we ate at the restaurant, and we were pleased with the fresh (and tasty) local products used in the cuisine (and of course, loads of choices of Alsatian wines).  Our entrées and main courses were excellent (the desserts were good but for our taste nothing special).  Also, the breakfasts were very fresh with home-made jams and juices.  The service was particularly friendly, helpful and attentive.
Directly from the hotel there are lots of walks / hikes all of which are well marked.  The hotel provides a useful guide for walks in and around Thannenkirch.  Or you can take the car and visit the numerous nearby quaint typical Alsatian wine villages.  We also visited the beautifully restored Haut Koenigsbourg Castle.  Being so close to the castle had the big advantage that we could be among the first visitors, thus avoiding the later rush.
Our room was comfortable and large enough and quiet - with the windows shut we heard virtually no noise.  The main road is a popular motorcycle route, so in summer it's probably best to ask for a room away from the main road to avoid the noise and smell or motorcycles.
We had a couple of trivial issues with the room.  There were virtually no hooks in the bathroom to hang clothes and towels and the cupboard space in the room was limited.  The door was extremely stiff and we had to push hard together to get it open.  Also, the toilet seat was not properly fixed to the toilet.  We mentioned the toilet seat and the door at the reception, but nothing was done during our stay.  However, these were really minor issues which in no way impaired our overall enjoyment in our stay.
