A superbly run, beautifully equipped hotel that I’d love for its own sake: that it’s supporting one of the finest and most imaginative restaurants I’ve visited for ages is incredible.
Excellent wine list with some real gems and a meal to remember for years.

Best meal, superb hotel.

A very good hotel, professionally run. Although my room was very small, the stay of one night only made this no particular difficulty.

The highpoint of the hotel was the restaurant. My friends and I chose what seemed an expensive fixed price menu at €85. This, however, was a quite exceptional meal of several amuse bouche courses to begin, six main courses and, finally, several wind down delights. The value for money ratio was therefore excellent.

Congratulations to the kitchen. This place deserves more than one star.

Great restaurant

Lovely hotel and restaurant very friendly and helpful. Great room and food wonderful. Tournus great town to wander around. Ideal stopover on way to South of France. Highly recommend as a place to visit/stay.

Great place

Since we first fell upon Aux Terrasses, 8/9 years ago, the owners have made leaps & bounds in additional rooms, facilities & access. Each room is VERY tastefully laid out, equipped & decorated to become a really classy boutique hotel - well done all. Staff are charming & helpful & it is “dog-friendly too ! Excellent place in a select location.

Bijou bolthole

Well equipped and friendly hotel , on edge of town but near the river so Easy to walk around. Room comfortable with little verandah. No coffee facilities in room

Good, modern hotel

A wonderful stay aux Terrasses. We primarily came for the restaurant and found it very convenient to stay overnight. We were in a large contemporary room, recently renovated, with a a terrace. The new rooms are very well designed with a sophisticated combination of wood, stone and concrete. The bathroom is large and modern, with an Italian shower and a lot of glass and dark tiles. The bed is rather large and comfortable. The lighting is well studied and the materials are of a very high quality. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We did not try their breakfast but enjoyed a coffee in our room. Note that there is a minibar but no kettle or coffee machine in the room. I would definitely come back to les Terrasses!

Spacious and modern room with a terrace! Very friendly staff!

Arrived tired after a five-hour on a Sunday having failed to recall that the restaurant wasn't open. The alternative of walking fifteen minutes was not practical for two pensioners with disabilities. Despite our obvious distress at this turn of events, the receptionist would only say "reservation complete" and the hotel has not engaged with us on the matter. Very disappointing - but, to be fair, I should have checked more closely. Such are the perils of old age.

Regrets!

The hotel was quite reasonably priced and was decent value for money in comparison to other hotels nearby. We didn't spend much time in the hotel, as there was no lobby/seating area where you can just lounge, but this was OK because we spent most of our time exploring a few towns and villages nearby. The room itself was quite small and outdated but had the basics needed for a comfortable stay (heated towel rack, bottle of water, mini bar, shower gel, body wash). They also had a parking lot just behind the property that you could use free of charge, which was convenient for us, as we had rented a car to do some exploring.

I think some of the rooms have been modernised (the Superior room categories), as they looked quite a bit nicer than our room based on some photos I saw online, but ours was definitely in need of some modernisation. We booked a Double Room but if we were to stay here again, I would definitely opt to stay in one of the Superior rooms.

Breakfast was not included in our rate and was quite expensive compared to the other hotels we stayed in across France (these were all 4 or 5 stars and the breakfast was more extensive but cheaper).

In general, the staff was friendly and helpful. I was sick on the last day, so my husband asked one of the team members for some salt and hot water and they were quick in bringing it up to us and made sure to ask how I was feeling when we checked out.

Generally, Aux Terrasses is a good place to stay if you don't plan on spending much time in the hotel itself but I would definitely stay in one of the Superior rooms if your budget allows for it!

Value for money, good option for a short stay while exploring Burgundy region

Lovely modern hotel. Views not great. Staff very helpful especially re bikes. Great restaurant- we had the six course tasting menu which was fantastic. Some v expensive wines but a few cheaper ones for people like us who don't want to spend hundreds of euros on wine. Some lovely tasteful  items around the hotel that are also on sale in their shop across the road.


Pleasant relaxing place to stay

We booked well in advance for a stopover, only realising a few days before that it has a Michelin starred restaurant. You must book a table in advance or they are likely to be full, especially on a Saturday in July, as we found. They have a kitchen shop over the road for which you get a voucher for a free gift. It's full of expensive stuff you'd probably never use. Hotel rooms fine - spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is €17 each so we got stuff from the supermarket opposite which we ate in our room. Tournus is lovely but very quiet in summer as lots of people have gone south, therefore not much open. Hotel matches culture at other end of town where the abbey is. In quite an odd location.
