We stayed two nights in this lovely place. We had to walk up two flights of stairs to get to our room!  Rooms are great, the breakfast is fantastic and the owners are very hospitable and kind. Highly recommended!
We hope to visit Tournus again some time and hope to stay here again!

Delightful

We were absolutely delighted with our end-May to early June stay at La Tour du Trésor.  It's a stunningly beautiful historic property, renovated with 21st century amenities.  Wonderful breakfasts with local pastries and cheeses, and several types of home-made jams.  The absolute quiet and tranquility was important to us.  It's surrounded by several acres of gardens leading down to the Saone River -- and yet it's within very short walking distance to the restaurants and shops of Tournus.  It's ideally situated for visiting the magnificent southern Burgundy wine country.  Sophie and Thierry are charming hosts.  We have many fond memories of our stay.

A Marvelous Stay in This Idyllic property

My husband and I have travelled a lot in France. This is among the best places we've stayed, in France and elsewhere. The building of the B&B spans many centuries with parts of it going back to the 10th century. But the inside and the gardens (with a jacuzzi and small vineyard) are entirely up-to-date on amenities. The breakfasts are delicious with home-made jams, fresh bread and fruit, French cheeses, and hot drinks of one's choice. As much as the building and breakfasts are outstanding, I think the hosts----Sophie and Thierry--are the reason that this place is truly above and beyond. They manage a perfect combination of professional (making reservations for dinner, for example) with personable (delightful sense of humor, for example). The town of Tournus is not overrun by tourists (which we appreciated), but it has thriving shops (such as 3-4 bakeries), historical sights, very highly rated restaurants (a couple with Michelin stars), and art (including a fab exhibit during our stay). The Saone river is right there too, including a rail trail for walking, running, and biking. Of course, the entire area around Tournus is full of great vineries, historical sights, and superb restaurants. We hope to be back!

Above and Beyond B&B

When any experience - a meal, a book, a journey - is excellent in every way it makes it difficult to decide where to start: in this case, over and above our comfortable, clean  and tasteful suite with the terrace,  with its view over beautifully-kept green gardens & neat, red-rooved houses  & beyond them the peaceful river Saone, I have to make special mention of our charming & generous hosts, Sophie & Thierry. 

They welcomed us warmly and energetically and immediately told us that we were being invited into their home. It is one thing to say this, quite another to give it substance from the first to last minute, but that it exactly what they did. Each day at breakfast  - a delightful moment of the day on the raised house terrace where we were served  home-made jams, a variety of lovely breads, fresh fruit, yoghurt, good freshly made coffee - Sophie & Thierry gave us guidance on places to visit, roads to take, places to stop for lunch & others where we might have dinner that evening. They also arranged those dinners for us.  One evening we opted for a  dinner at home, on our apartment terrace: bread, wonderful cheeses & a bottle of red Burgundy, brought up to us by our hosts at their suggestion. Definitely one of the most memorable moments from our entire holiday! 

La Tour could scarcely be positioned better: right in the middle of the old town. Though it would be worth struggling to find a parking space just to stay here, the private parking in the grounds is a real advantage. 

Thank you Sophie & Thierry for a faultless stay. France is a big country & there is still lots to see,  but I know we would willing make a detour to come & stay with you again.

Just exceptional!

I have to start the review by mentioning Sophie and Thierry who really gave amazing attention every time we saw them and really made you feel welcome. The building is amazing and we enjoyed being told about the very interesting history by Sophie. We stayed in the Saone suite which was really fantastic. We loved all the unique touches and decorations and the beautiful view from the terrace. Breakfast was also fantastic. Basically everything was wonderful so we will definitely return.

Fantastic, a really wonderful place to stay

We rented for over three days Vinilodge2, an apartment in a renovated building closer to the centre of town.  Everything was in pristine (new) condition and the apartment had been superbly designed.  We worked from the apartment with ease.  It is light with a beautiful view to the Saone river.   The kitchen is very well equipped, so much so that although tempted by the list of restaurant, we ate in for two of the three nights.

A belated thank you to Sophie & Thierry - they are the most charming and welcoming hosts, providing the warmest of welcomes and truly going out of their way to make everything perfect.  Our stay here was a real highlight of our trip to France, and an unforgettable experience.  In a beautiful location, within a very pretty village. The accommodation is super stylish, and the breakfast just delicious!  A really special place; they have everything just spot on, and we hope to return in the near future.  A five star experience, thank you!

A Fabulous Gem!

We only stay at La Tour du Tresorier on our way down to our home in Provence, 
Sophei and Thierry are excellent hosts who provide every comfort of a five star hotel.
The Breakfast is far better than that of most hotels and the rooms are spotless comfortable with excellent bed linen , they also provide bath robes, hairdryer and toiletries

The Finest Chamber d'Hote

We had a great time. A fantastic place with a wonderful atmosphere. Breakfast was very good with good products like homemade jams, 
very good coffee, bread, delicious fruit salad etc. 
Everything was perfect.

Lovely, relaxing place 👍

We have been taking motoring holidays in France for the past 4 years now, and since discovering "La Tour de Tresorier", we always factor in a visit on our holiday itinerary!  It is still every bit as special as the first time we visited, and Sophie and Thierry are wonderful hosts.  (Ably assisted by Luna and Leo of course!).  This place is somewhere you 'come home'  and relax in.   We love to just sit on the terrace overlooking the river with a glass of wine and let time float by!    Cannot recommend  "La Tour de Tresorier" highly enough!
