A simple but good hotel. The rooms are small - it's not a place for spending much time in the room, unless in bed - but not cramped. Shower-room clean and convenient.
The breakfast (charged separately) is simple in traditional style but very adequate to set one up for the day - the coffee is good and strong, too.
Location is excellent - 10 mins walk from the station, 5 to the old town, and 10 to the university. There are three restaurants next door and opposite: a superb Lebanese, a decent Chinese, and a bistro I didn't have the chance to try.
The hosts are very gracious and warm, and help with anything needed.
If I go back to Tours, I'll most likely revisit this hotel.

Good simple hotel, excellent location, charming hosts.

This is a small private hotel in the centre of Tours.  Street parking close by, not too expensive (a cheap overnight rate).  The owner is friendly and welcoming.  The rooms are fresh and clean.  What more can you ask as this was just an overnight stay.  Ideal for us.

A very clean hotel - no dust on the windowsills, fresh feeling, nicely laundered bedsheets. It is a friendly place where the proprietor greets you. It is a quiet hotel on a quiet road in the town centre.  It is in an ideal location for central Tours, just a short walk from the cathedral and all the amenities.  It was value for money and I would definitely come again.

Very clean friendly hotel right in the middle of Tours but beautifully quiet. 
Decor very traditional and facilities unchanged for years but immaculately presented! 
Proprietor only has a little English but is extremely helpful. Excellent value for money

Three nights in the Loire

My partner and I have just left to travel to Southern Brittany but stayed here for 4 nights. We had a room with a balcony which was lovely. Everything was clean and breakfast was sufficient. Ideally placed for bars and restaurants.Very good for the money! 

Enjoyable stay!

Hotel Berthelot on a narrow street, General Henri Mathias Berthelot, is tucked behind the Radisson Hotel. Once you have the Radisson neon sign as a landmark, The Berthelot is easy to find and well worth the search. Parking is a steep approach to an underground parkade. Accept the kind help of the reception staff to park your car. The Reception Staff are warm and welcoming. The rooms are pleasant and equipped with toiletries. However, the breakfast is outstanding. The buffet includes a full array of salads, meats, fruits, cereals, juices and individually prepared eggs or omelettes. The excellent coffee is self-prepared espressos and "on demand" for as many as you might need. The hotel is well situated for walking around the city and for exploring older neighbourhoods to admire the decorative, elegant architecture and big shady trees. The Berthelot could be described as an unpretentious boutique hotel. Great value!

Excellent location- handy for old town, shops, restaurants; very friendly and helpful family run hotel, very comfortable, generous breakfast- recommend. Top dinner suggestions too :-)  Shorter WiFi code would be good!
