Beautiful, clean and extremely friendly family run hotel and restaurant. 
We have now stayed here twice and will return for the excellent food (using tasty local produce) and warm welcome.

Excellent.

We called into La Brasserie for lunch during our visit to Le Ranch, Madranges, with friends and family. We were really impressed - we had the 'Plate Du Jour', a beautiful pork dish....succulent, very tasty, and served both with lovely fresh vegetables and a smile. We were made very welcome, the staff were very friendly and very efficient, and they even brought pencils, crayons and paper for the younger members of the group.  The result? A wonderfully relaxed lunch - everything we might have hoped for from this beautiful, rural area of France. Thankyou!

Lovely food, lovely atmosphere

We ate here on a few occasions and found everything we tried to be very good indeed. The oeuf cocotte with fois gras was superb, the service was unobtrusive but helpful, thank you for a very good dining experience

Excellent food and service!

Great place for a good evening meal. Excellent and varied menu. Really wonderful ambiance sitting on the terrace on a warm September evening. Good food at a reasonable price. Looking forward to going again next time I am in the limousin 

Eating out 

Despite a confirmed booking for a double room, dinner & breakfast the hotel was closed.  Advised through the Logis de France booking agency to let hotel know if arrival would be after 6pm.  Thanks to heavy traffic in Paris it became clear we would arrive later than 6pm - thus phoned hotel at ~4pm to let them know; after a very long wait the call was answered - only to be told the hotel was closed - and the restaurant was closed too.  After pointing out we had a confirmed booking we were eventually and grudgingly giving the code to the hotel security door and told we "could use" a room.  After travelling ~ 600 miles we accepted this.  There was nobody on duty; the room was unprepared and we had to search for towels - for example.  There was nowhere open in the village at 7.30pm open for supper as it was a festival day - despite being told of one hotel that would be open by the recipient of my telephone call.  We ignored the rather poor-looking 10 Euro self service breakfast the next day - and left as early as possible.  The room itself was OK but a bit dusty & noisy - the bed comfortable.  The restaurant looked quite attractive - indeed one of the reasons for booking there but its merits remain a mystery.  Would I use this hotel again - no way - as in our experience it could not honour a booking confirmed by e-mail.
