Be aware!!!! 
Somebody of the domain called me on the supposed day of arrival and cancelled the booking. I was not aware of the cancelling policy and told the host to contact booming.com to issue a refund. This has not happened, so the host still has my money and I am still waiting for my refund as I obviously had to book another accomodation. 
Every time I contacted the host, they had another excuse of not issuing a refund.

Michel was very friendly and helpful.We had a wonderful afternoon in his beautiful garden, at the pool, had a picnic. There are sheep, which th ekids loved, The adults even got to have a wine-tasting at the neighbours vinyard! The rooms where spacious and tidy. 
All in all a great experience. Next time we'll stay longer!

This is the only B&B concept in Marcillac,  well located 2-3km from A10 highway and you will be located in the middle of many vineyards. Comfortable and large rooms suitable for couples and family,  the owner used to live in many places across the world,  so the rooms are all different from each other.  Great bed for a peaceful and relaxing sleep,  the French breakfast is organized with fresh croissant,  fresh bread, butter,  jam,  tea / coffee / orange juices  all served in the living room large dining table. It's hard to find a similar place at this price. Nearby there is a gourmet family  run restaurant down the road (400-500m) and you are at a 15mn drive from UNESCO Citadelle of Blaye city and 30-40mn from Bordeaux,  1hour from La Rochelle. 

Peaceful, 30mn from Bordeaux

we are Australian and spending a few weeks traveling in France. We live to stay in places that are different and cosy rather than chain hotels.We loved the views from this maison. Surrounding by vineyards we enjoyed walking around the property. hens are free range and there are two sheep nearby. Our room was spacious and the bathroom was too.I loved the electric shutters that made the room very dark allowing a long sleep. Breakfast was plentiful with bread jam yoghurt and fruit on offer. the nearby restaurant was closed on a Sunday but we enjoyed a drive into Blaye. Our host was friendly and welcoming. We bought two bottles of the wine from the voneyards.

Very peaceful and friendly

Stayed here on the way to Spain. Great host made us feel very welcome. Great pool and the kids loved the farm animals next door. Breakfast was friendly and nice. WIFI here was great and so were the rooms.

Quick crash on the way to Spain

Stayed here for a few nights break after the hustle of La Rochelle. Our host was excellent and helped us with queries, fishing gear, and places to go. He also sells very nice wine at a good price for his friend next door. The guest house is situated in a vinyard itself, and the pool kept my son happy for hours. It is a short drive to many good sites of interest in the area, as well as Bordeaux and all it's cafés and shops for those who like that. Much better was the fortress at blaye, steeped in history with English explanations for a change. The accommodation has a family room which is a proper size for 4, we were comfortable in there with comfy beds and good size shower room.
Breakfast is continental with fresh croissant, and They will do you an evening meal with wine with notice if you are not feeling like driving. Marcillac does have a very nice restaurant a walk away at a mill nearby in a local hamlet, but little in the village but a grocer and Boulanger.
We will return for more! Thank you michel for the wine on leaving.
