We stayed in cabin 16 for a week in late August. The site itself was blissful with the constant sound of the river and the 360 degree mountain views. Our cabin was immaculately clean and located shadily amongst the trees, whilst still being close to the site amenities. Pool area was well kept and was frequently quiet. The pizzas from the roulette were fabulous and reasonably priced. Staff were all super helpful, the lady in reception was happy to make calls for us to enquire and book activities etc.
Vallouise itself is a great base, all you need is in the village (bakery, shop, restaurants and sports equipment hire). Make sure you try the almond croissants from the bakery! There are lots of walking trails from the village that are all clearly signposted, which take you up for some sensational views of the valley.

Perfect family holiday

This is a really nice campsite about 5 or 10 mins walk from the village centre. 
One bit of booking advice I'd give: if you've got kids or in fact anything other than a small tent, a Comfort Plus pitch is a must.  We've got a campervan and an awning that my son sleeps in and our standard pitch... well, we were edge to edge and practically in our neighbours porch.  The staff were lovely and very helpful and we were able to move as the site wasn't full (end of August).
The campsite seems vast, lots of trees and mountains everywhere you look. Facilities were spotless, reception sells maps, cereal, bread (to order) and other bits and pieces.  There’s a snack bar but it was closed the second week (end of August).
There’s a river running past the site and some nice walks straight from the site, gentle strolls by the river or more challenging up into the mountains – IGN maps 3536 & 3436 were useful for planning walks plus a decent walking app. 
I’d recommend driving up to the village of Chambran and parking there (there’s a nice cafe), it’s the start of the Ecrins National Park and it’s stunning (no dogs allowed tho). You can walk from there to the Lac de l’Eychauda. Also visit the village of Puy st Vincent either by some great walking trails or bike.
Cycling is steep!  There were lots of mountain bikers and you can hire bikes at the campsite. We took road bikes, my husband rode over the Col d’Izoard (about 100km while I did a few short but very hilly rides. From Vallouise you can ride (or drive) up the main road through Ailefroide to the top where you can see the glaciers and the ice blue mountain water.
The village has a few shops, there’s a Casino supermarket on the outskirts and a veg stall.  There are a couple of nice restaurants and a pizza place and it’s all easy walking distance.  Try the locally brewed Alphand beer – they’ve also got a bar and restaurant in Vallouise.
Our only regret is that we weren’t there for longer!

Relaxed family campsite in an amazing location

I have just returned from a motor home trip in the Southern Alpes. By far the best site we used on the whole trip was the Huttopia site in Vallouise. A superbly positioned site in the middle of a gorgeous village, within walking distance of all bars/restaurants and the best patisserie ever. With only a week to go until the end of the sites summer season, one could expect the place to be a bit tired, but not at all. Large well spaced pitches, absolutely immaculate washrooms and toilets with ample hot water, a pristine heated swimming pool and a very well appointed, cosy and warm meeting room, offering free Wi-fi, maps of the area and other useful information. The staff were very helpful, spoke good English. We didn’t use many of the facilities on offer on this trip, but will definitely be going back for longer. Day time temperatures were great, but at the end of September it’s worth having a warm jacket for the evenings, the temperature drops very quickly. 
Overall a really excellent site.

End of season stopover at Vallouise Huttopia

Beautiful walks all around , close to shops/ market.  . Pool busy and a bit cooler than I would like ! Facilities clean and 360 views of mountains . Check out the magic mirror outside toilet block 2 . The light is better than any photography studio and takes years off you ! Cheered me up after 3 weeks of no make up and not much sleep !

Great location , pool could have been warmer

This is a delightful camp site up in the alpes. It is between 2 small rivers and an easy walk into the village. There is a busy market on Thursdays and another mainly for food, and delicious food too. Everything from local produce including lots of different cheeses, fruit and veg. A great fish stall and even a stand roasting chickens.
The camp site has a range of pitches from natural to comfort and they at the other end you can hire chalets. A range of sports are available from tennis to table tennis, 2 pools and a kids play area. Outside the reception area is a bar which also does pizzas and crepes very reasonably prices.

Camping in the Alpes

We had a fantastic 10 days camping here! Great facilities and breath taking scenery. Perfect for hikers/climbers as you are close to the mountains.The weekly markets in the town were a real highlight - and the proximity to the town was such a bonus. We could walk up for a coffee/meal out or browse any time without having to get in the car. Renting a fridge is a must in summer - make sure you rent it as far in advance as you can, otherwise you might not get one!  You can also rent a gas BBQ which is very helpful.
