Whilst the initial impression of the hotel and our room was that the decor was tired, I must say it was spotlessly clean. The bed was a small double accessible only from one side which made a night time visit to the toilet difficult for my husband. The bathroom was tiny but again, clean and perfectly functional. The toilet was in a separate cupboard. 
There was no furniture in the room (due to its very compact size) and a small fold up table would have helped greatly. There was a inbuilt wardrobe with sufficient space for clothes etc.  However the real highlight is the hotel’s location opposite a pristine & clean beach, and just a few minutes walk away from the main town, which meant it was quieter at night. And also another plus was the room’s balcony with table, two chairs and a reclining deck chair. Perfect for a spot of sunbathing (or for either myself or my husband to get out of my way whilst we took it in turns to get ready in our small room!)
The staff were friendly but no one spoke to us in English which is fine as I can manage with my basic French but some may struggle. We didn’t take breakfast as there was no outside seating option and we preferred to sit out and make the most of the weather. Overall, a lovely little hotel in a superb French beach resort.

Lovely Sea View

We originally made our booking for the Hôtel de la Mer at the end of 2019 but due to the COVID-19 travelling restrictions that prevented trips to France, we had to wait more than 2 years for our visit.  It was so worth the wait : the proprietors and all the staff were charming and helpful, the rooms were kept beautifully clean and the hotel could not be better placed for the beach and the town.  We loved every minute of our stay.

Wonderful - So Worth The Wait

Nice hotell in a small French village by the Mediterranean sea.The lovely little hotel is situated just a street across from the beach, and few minutes walk from the reastaurants and bars. It is family driven, and they were very helpfull, kind and interested in the guests. We even got to park our motorcycles in their own private garage during the stay. Our room didn't have a balcony, but we had a stunning view from the window. We had had two bedrooms, and a very tiny bathroom, with a tiny shower. It was enough for us. We ate breakfast outside the hotel, but they have breakfast and it looked good. There was no elevator.

Family hotell close to the beach

Hotel de la Mer is right across the street from a sweet and very swimmable beach! Adding to that the owners, Lucie and Camille are the most helpful and accommodating hosts! The hotel is super clean and the breakfasts delightful!!  They bake their bread items fresh in the morning so you wake up to the smell of freshly baked croissants!!  What could be better?! Look out the window of your hotel room to the beautiful Mediterranean! There is a free parking lot across the street also. The town is adorable and the seafood fresh and delicious!! Best Location and more! 

We stayed one night and had room no 14 on the second floor and as we travel for 12 weeks we do have too much Heavy luggage and this hotel dont have a lift so you have to carry your bags up 4 different stairs to level 2 of the hotel. Room was one of the smallest I ever have seen and I have seen a lot of hotelrooms in my very long Life!
We did have a Balcony where I wanted to sit and to some work on my computer but not easy as the sun was hitting our balcony until almost sunset! Parking was free just opposite the hotel which was a plus, that is if you can find a space there which we did manage to do but it was the last one! So if you arrive in August good luck!
As I told you I'm an old man now and need to see the bathroom atleast one time every night and in this case it not easy to squeeze in to it is made for dwarfs this I do promise you, so if your bodyweight is over 75 kgs and you do have a few extra cm around your stomach beware of this hotel or atleast room no 14! B-F was ok but sure nothing extra! It seems like the hotel is run by a family and when we arrived we were greeted by the wife and she was very nice and helped us carry one of our bags up to our dwarf room! Location is very nice if you want to go to the beach but if you want a good selection of restaurants in the evening is a bit far away!

Smallest bathroom on the Planet

We stayed at the Hotel in mid July 2018 for 3 nights. The location is yards from the beach and a short walk from the town centre. The room was exemplary with a great view over the beach, breakfast was ideal the owners / staff extremely helpful. We enjoyed it so much we have rebooked this year to start are Languedoc holiday

Tremendous

A week break at the end of the season.
Convenient hotel with all the facilities needed for a relaxing break.
Rooms are compact/bijou but with a small sea view balcony and have daily cleaning and laundry changes; more than adequate for a couple looking for a restful stay which is exactly what we enjoyed!

Perfect base for Valras Plage

Me and my partner stayed here for 3 nights and had such an amazing holiday...  the hotel was spotless and so quiet.... the staff were very welcoming..  breakfast was set out all nice and the food was all fresh... would defo recommend this hotel and defiantly be staying again next trip ..  could not fault this hotel at all ..  perfect location right on the beach.
