Located just outside the walls, this hotel is the perfect spot to visit the beautiful city of Vannes. Our host was very friendly. The rooms are lovely with well chosen artwork and furniture. Breakfast is great. This is the perfect place to rediscover what hospitality means. Prices are very reasonable and affordable

Great boutique hotel

Very good location and very good quality/cost ratio. Small rooms and even more tight bathroom with not ventilation but very clean and at the end comfortable. In the city center and closed to the city tourist attractions. Recommended.

Satisfactory staying 

Nice, tasteful furnishings. Rooms on first and second floor (entry door only on ground level), no lift. Bed comfortable, room very clean. Shower not enclosed, creates a mini flood. Tip - put the bath mat outside the bathroom or it will be unuseable. Not much space for cases. Central location, handy for popping back to the room. Lots of restaurants within few minutes walk.

Very central location in shopping street

Location- could not be better, literally around the corner from one of the old town gates, with a very lively and happening neighborhood a block away in another direction. There are several excellent restaurants within 3 blocks or so. There is some parking on the street, free after 7 pm and before 9 am. Note that you can prepay parking for the next day, so you don't need to be up before 9 to pay for parking next morning (if you are staying for longer than a night). 

Room- our room was very small, but tastefully decorated, and with a great view right on the city wall. 

Breakfast- we skipped breakfast, so can't comment on that. 

Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and the staff at the hotel was friendly and provided some great recommendations on what to see and do. 

Fantastic location

Excellent small hotel right outside the city wall. Very small room but perfectly adequate, clean and with excellent shower. Very good breakfast.  Lovely welcome and service.  Public car park about 2 minutes walk away - 12.20 euros for the night.

Perfect for an overnight stay

Positiv: clean, stylish rooms, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast right in the historical Center  of Vannes. 

Negative: 
 - Very small bath room
 - No luggage storage after checkout: 
The welcoming in the hotel was a bid bizarre: backpacking through France, I asked if I could leave my backpack in the hotel after checkout the next day, the request was declined with the following reasons:
 - We are a small hotel.
- With Covid this is not possible anymore (why?).
- We do not have a storage room.
- Even before Covid we only held bags for a few hours and never until the evening. 
- The other guests do not like if the bags are stored in the corridor. 

I have been extensively traveling around the globe now for 30 years, in the full price range from  youth hostels to 5+ hotels. It NEVER occured to me, that I could not leave my bag after checkout. As I mentioned this line of argument to the receptionists 
 equals owner?) he offered me to reimburse the night and to lock for another hotel. I was too tired to accept this offer, but this unpleasant  welcoming actually ruined my stage in the otherwise sympathetic charming city of Vannes.

You can not leave your luggage there after checkout

Very, very good location being just steps from the town gate and the town walls.  Rooms were smallish, but not too bad, very clean, bathrooms modern and also very clean.  No problem with hot water.  On to the not so great - towels and bed linens smelled musty, pillows in desperate need of replacement, lots of stairs - which is fine but we weren't prepared.  Also, street parking only which is hard to find close by.  We parked by the ramparts (which is free from 1200-1400, and 1900-0900).  Breakfast not worth the money, just go to one of the excellent local bakeries. Our room faced the street which was busy and quite noisy.  The location and the price makes it all worthwhile.

Great value for the money

We booked a room at Hotel Le Bretagne for one night because the fantastic B&B where we were staying (Villa Garenne, reviewed elsewhere) had no availabilities for our last night and Le Bretagne happened to be close by. Fortunately, we could leave our luggage at the B&B because check-in at Le Bretagne was very late, which is annoying if you are travelling without a car. The owner of Villa Garenne even was so kind as to drop off our luggage. 

We didn’t exactly receive a warm welcome at the hotel. The guy at the reception desk started to blame us for having made a reservation via booking.com. instead of directly to the hotel. As we took some time to understand what he was aiming at, he said ‘Oh, forget it’, which we thought was quite rude. Our room on the second floor at the back – there is no elevator - was very small but had a good layout and was very nicely done up. The bedding was fine. We recognised the hand of the designers of Villa Garenne, former owners of the hotel. As there was very little storage room, it was a good thing we were only staying for one night because we would have hated to have to live out of our bags. The shower, which had a transparent door, was comparatively large but it was very close to the toilet. An unexpected bonus was the lovely view on the city ramparts from our room window. 

We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel – we used the Baguetteria in the railway station, which has outside seating, so we can’t comment on its quality. The hotel is located between the centre and the railway station. The closest bus stop is 'Le Mené' on line 7 from the railway station. Bus 7 also travels to the Port.

Good basic hotel for very short stays

Stayed one night in Vannes on the way to the Roscoff ferry.  Nice hotel with warm welcome. We had a small room on 1st floor overlooking the street.  Very clean and nicely decorated.  Warm night so kept window open.  Wow they sure know how to party in Vannes. Things began to quieten down around 4.30 am.  So not much sleep.
