    OK for overnight stop

Slightly shabby place. No English spoken, not very friendly. Parking in the garden area round the back but a longish walk with luggage through unkempt and narrow walkways.

    Room adequate but everything creaked.

    Restaurant not used.

There are better places for the money.

About a 20-30 min walk int

    Traditional value for money.

Stayed one night after driving up from Munich on a motorcycle. The place is a traditional roadside hotel/restaurant which appeared to be owned and run by a friendly old French chap. (I'm resisting the urge for French stereotypes here!)

    Handy for Verdun

We were greeted by an older man who showed us up to our room. It was clean and adequate, if a bit old-fashioned and the bed was comfortable. Really no complaints.

Breakfast was an adequate, if not over-generous buffet.

It's a ten minute walk into the centre of Verdun and there's plenty of on-s

    Good choice for bargain hunters

Le Lion d'Or was suggested by a Michelin (green) guide and it had a lot going for it, especially the price (very low) and its cleanliness. Our third floor room (no elevator, unfortunately) was spartan but very clean, and had working (free) wi-fi. Couldn't complain about it or about the somewhat less

    Dingy

Not conveniently located, dingy, and restricted check in times. If you can find someplace else, do so. Not really worth it. There are places in town that are the same price. The only real advantage is that is near the road to the battle sites, but that is not a real draw as the city is small and
