Vieille-Brioude

Very clean, comfortable, quiet with enough room for us and our luggage. Good, hot shower.  Nicely decorated.  Very quiet area surrounded by farming with nice gardens outside door.  Shade rolled down for complete darkness and privacy if you like to sleep in.  Simple breakfast of breads, cheese, ham, butter, excellent homemade jams and choice of homemade yogurt or creme brulee, plus coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice.  You can walk into town, but that first 100 feet or so doesn't have a sidewalk, though the road isn't too busy.  Mont St-Michel parking is a very short drive away.  Overall, a very nice stay and highly recommended.

Would Love to Go Back

We've been here a little over a week. The owners have been very welcoming since we arrived. The room is comfortable and well equipped. The view from here is enchanting. There's also a kitchen available to the guests.

The panorama deserves its name

Le Panorama is nestled on a beautiful Hill that overlooks the tiny and charming village of Vieille-Brioude. The room was clean and impeccable and the breakfast was varied and tasty. Our host were very respectful, insightful and helpful. It really is a nice place to stop and relax.

Great site, wonderful people

I did need to try a couple of towns (Brioude and Vielle Brioude) on my sat nav to find Rue de Pissavit but got it sorted okay.  Don't worry about the house number, the road is quite short.  If you are coming from one particular direction you sat nav may suggest you take a very rough track, just ignore that and the sat nav will then pick up the proper road.  As you go down Rue de Pissivit the B&B is on the left, go past the entrance and you will see another entrance with a "Chambre D'Hotes" sign, go into there and there is an intercom on the wall to contact the owners.

The B&B has a kitchen and outside terrace area that is shared with the 3 rooms.  The kitchen is well appointed and very useful if you want to cater for yourself.  The swimming pool looked very nice and there is plenty of outside seating overlooking the local countryside.  A continental breakfast is served either in the kitchen or on the terrace and the table is shared with other residents, if there are any and you are eating at the same time of course.  There is no restaurant within reasonable walking distance, but I did see two in the local village of Vielle-Brioude.  There are plenty of restaurants in Brioude itself which is 5-10 minute drive away.  The owners are very welcoming and speak many languages including French, English, German and Spanish.

Nice Location

Verena has an innate sense of hospitality. The rooms are spacious. Unfortunately the weather was not conducive to enjoying the swimming pool. Nevertheless, we had a beautiful panorama before our eyes. A kitchen is available as well as a terrace for those who want to eat out. Breakfast is very good with a hostess ready to meet any of our desires. No regrets about having come to this place by chance since we could not have an answer from the old presbytery of Old Brioude.

very welcome

It's hard to find. Very nice rooms. No TV in the rooms, no living room to relax inside except a very functional kitchen. The set is nice. Very good Wifi. The rooms are decorated with taste but some endure the unpredictability of time.

beautiful view, functional room

We have 'privatised' the three guest rooms. Beautiful accommodation, extraordinarily kind accommodation even for extra needs (shopping appointments, small services...). Kitchen available even at noon or evening. Clothing extension also available.

Ideal for the family

We had a pleasant stay in a beautiful setting. The pool area is idyllic. The rooms are comfortable and the bedding is good. The PDJ is satisfactory. The owner is hospitable and friendly. The guest rooms are located in the basement of the house, we have access to a kitchen and there is a terrace to eat outside. We will come back!

Very good price ratio

Very difficult to find, we had two sat-navs, neither knew the address existed.  With local help we found it in a completely difference area of he hillside to where we had expected.  The three letting rooms were all occupied.  There is off-road parking but it is not easy to access, long and narrow.

The proprietress was very welcoming.  The bedroom was small but the bed was comfortable.  It was strangely appointed with bookcase of books and numerous ornaments.  The bathroom was good.

Breakfast, taken with the other four French guests and our hostess did not work very well.  We were on the end of the table, the other four were reluctant to pass the food.  Our hostess had to keep getting up to do it.  The food was good.  As is frequently the case in France the jams were all homemade.

Good Attempt

Very friendly and welcoming owner who speaks English and German. Lovely clean, quiet room, comfy bed and nice bathroom. Off street, secure parking. Great private terrace to relax and enjoy the picturesque valley views. Beautiful swimming pool. There is a full kitchen to use if you prefer to cook for yourself. Good wifi. Breakfast is excellent and plentiful ... offering cereal, fresh bread/croissants/baguettes, fruit, jams, local cheeses and tea/coffee. Le Panorama offers great value and we will happily stay again.
