Lovely welcome from Pascale & Fred, lovely food and house. All good. I wholeheartedly recommend the place to anybody seeking a genuine "maison d'hôtes". Best with a car even if it is really close to Briançon. Gentle warning : not OK for those with heavy disability (stairs, etc.),  that's a very ancient sort of home which cannot be transformed easily for this purpose. An extension is planned for the future which might fit the requirements.

We found Les Tanneries after some difficulty with directions but being there was a great experience.  Pascale and Fred were both very helpful and entertaining.  We were there in hot weather and did some beautiful walks up the hills just to the south, for which Les Tanneries is well placed.    The other guests were friendly, and we enjoyed our sociable evening picnics in the garden.  The house and its location are full of character and we felt very welcome.

A great welcome near Briancon

Les Tanneries is a beautifully decorated house, and our hosts Pascale and Fred were extremely welcoming. We particularly liked being able to relax in the lovely garden or large lounge after a day hiking in the mountains. This B&B is well located, in a peaceful village only a 10 minute drive from the centre of Briançon, so it's very convenient for exploring the old town. We stayed 3 nights, and on 2 nights ate a delicious table d'hôte meal. Note that if you are having a table d'hôte meal, you need to book it in advance, and the B&B does not serve alcohol (but you can bring your own bottle!). We also enjoyed the continental breakfasts, with croissants, crepes, and a good selection of honey and homemade jams.
