We booked this hotel as a start point for the visiting castles of the Loire Valley. But... This place good only for one night stay. First of all, it was hard to find the way to the hotel. that feeling, when you see the sighn of the hotel, but can't find the way to get close to it by car... And the smell in the rooms...

We booked this hotel for a visit to the chateaux of the Loire Valley. Obviously, we knew we were getting a budget experience - we wanted to save money on accommodation since the castles are fairly expensive to visit. Well, I really wish we'd bit the bullet and spent a little more on our hotel, because we were very disappointed by the Class Eco Blois. The main issue was the temperature in our room - it was very hot in the region during our stay, and the room seemed to multiply the heat by infinity. When the window was open, the air still didn't really circulate. Needless to say, the place doesn't have A/C (not that we were expecting it). Also, it was very loud with the window open - traffic from the highway right beside the hotel, and people loudly coming and going at all hours. One night, a group of people hung out in the parking lot below our window and had a loud conversation... At 1:30 AM. And the way our window was oriented, another room had a view in when our window was open. The resident of that room hung out the window smoking and chatting on his cellphone at midnight one night. We really barely slept, which made our visit the the Loire region the low point of our 3 week trip. A few more points - the room smelt like cleaning products but also musty. Not so pleasant. On the plus side, the toilets and shower were pretty clean and the shower had great water pressure. The fellow who helped us at check in was also very friendly.

If it weren't for the heat, we probably would have tolerated the Class Eco Blois just fine - but the heat and lack of sleep pushed us over the edge.
