Easy access to rooms which are annexed to the main house;
Lovely, friendly pets - dogs (enthusiastic but totally nonthreatening), cats, rabbits, hens...
Comfortable, spacious, colourful room;
Nice breakfast;
Excellent value for money and we look forward to returning!

Lovely gem just outside Vinon-sur-Verdon

Arrived at the b& b later than expected, around 10pm and we were exhausted after a long day driving. The gate to enter the property was closed, appeared locked and it was pitch black. There was no indication when booking that they don't accept late arrivals so we thought it wouldn't be a problem. When they are expecting guests, I would have thought the right thing to do is to at least keep the gate open to welcome people in to the property. Not a good first impression! As it was so dark, we tried opening the gate but had no luck. I ended up having to call the owner which was annoying as foreign calls from and to our mobile aren't cheap. The owner didn't answer but then called me back within a minute. She came out to us and let us in, and the gate actually wasn't locked but was only latched- but they can't expect everyone will be able to open it in the dark! The owner just gave us the key and pointed to the room without saying anything else. We weren't sure if the lack of welcome was due to language differences or whether she was just unfriendly. I knew breakfast was supposed to be included and thought she could have at least mentioned it! We saw the wi fi password was written outside the room, when the owner saw us looking around she asked if we were ok. I asked her about the wifi and she said it only works outside and not in the room. I then asked about breakfast, and only then did she ask what time we wanted it. The room was nice enough and comfortable for the 1 night stay. We discovered in the morning there were external shutters on the door to keep light out in the morning. Would have been nice to have been told these things when arriving late at night!

When we went to breakfast there was already a couple sitting there who had ate all the croissants. I asked for more, she put three out and the other guest took another one! We hardly got any, and didn't enjoy that we had to share food with another couple. There was a choice of boiled or fried egg each and some yoghurt. Was ok, but not much food available.
Owner was a bit more friendlier but not overly hospitable. 

Was nice enough accomodation but would be much nicer if welcomed better upon arrival. 



Ok but didn't feel welcome

Rural setting 2km from town. Nice, clean en suite room and friendly hostess.  Didn't get the chance to swim in the river as only one night stay.  Good recommendation for dinner in town.  Breakfast on veranda, bread, croissants, fruit and yoghurt.  Lovely!
