My friend booked us into this hotel. When we turned up the man on reception didn't know we were comming. He then gave us 3 different prices for our rooms. It ended up been 50euros per person. I had a double bed to myself for 50 euros. 3 of my mates had to share 3 singles in one room at 50euros each. Hotel was in a very rundown state. Please see photos. Would not recommend to anyone.

Stay away

It is beyond belief that Trip Adviser should rate this place so highly.  Our experience was very unpleasant, and I see that most of the favourable reviews are five or more years old.  Possibly it was because our visit was in January and the put-upon fellow running the place wanted to hibernate, that we were so badly treated, but we were not the only people in the hotel.  For a start, we arrived to find the place unmanned and had to telephone to get someone to let us in.  All very well, except that the call went to answerphone. Eventually we got through and some time later a man arrived to open the door.  This was something of a relief, as we had been standing in the street for half an hour in sub-zero temperature.  We had booked through the Logis de France site, where you give your credit card as a caution rather than to pay in advance, but he had taken full payment because, as he said, that's what they do with Booking.com.  However, we had booked including breakfast, which he then told us was not being served, so we would have to wait till the next day for a cash refund.  Where do we park the car? in the street.  But it's not free parking.  Well you'll have to be gone by 9 a.m... But we will want to find a cafe in which to have breakfast.  Shrug - your problem.  As for the room, it was a bit dingy, but warm, and the bathroom was clean.  Maybe It will be better in the summer, but I get the impression that the place is in terminal decline.

Unfriendly and unhelpful dump

Nice staff and a great location for those who want to try Champange.  Nice little breakfast service was there too.  The standard is low, all floors are tilted and the rooms would need renovation by professionals.  But the price was low and the situation good.

Good location near Avenue De Champange

This is one of my favourite stops when I drive to and from Italy.  The hotel is not new but the price takes that into consideration.  the restaurant is fine cuisine - not cheap but a good treat after a long drive.  There are plenty of other bars and restaurants withing 5 minutes walk. The best thing is that there i.s a secure garage in the hotel in which you can park a fully loaded car for a few euros

Great overnight stop with secure parking

Tried to find a midway point between the Alsace and Paris, off the main routes. Thought the reviews here sounded promising - especially the food aspect. The hotel looks as though it was once THE place to come but is now just very tired. Arrived and our booking could not be found. When we showed them our confirmation on our iPad, they agreed that we had one - there seemed to be very few other patrons staying - and we were given a room about as far as one could walk within the hotel building (the hotel is quite vast). We asked whether we could still eat there and were told that the bistro was all that was open and would be closing within two hours (it was then 6:30pm). So we got settled, freshened and went down (before 7:00pm) only to find the bistro closed and no one to make inquiries of. So we wandered the deserted city and found a mediocre pizza place across the huge, empty town square. Upon our return to the hotel, we walked past the semi-formal dining room and found it ~40% occupied with diners. Hmmm... The beds were just adequate, the bathtub was finished (entirely, completely) with a fine gritty surface (not a left-over scouring compound) which made shifting one's body somewhat perilous. The room was clean and it was quiet.  I would try to not stay here again if there were nearby alternatives.

Very tired hotel and staff

We stayed on our way South and were pleased to discover this small hotel in the middle of the town with secure parking, comfortable bedrooms and excellent food. The patrons were welcoming and were very responsive to our halting French. We like the French traditional way of life and this hotel retains these qualities. Definitely value for money.The position in the centre of town is perfect for exploration although the proximity to the church and the bell tower first thing in the morning will wake you. Not a problem if you need to get on with your day though.
