We stayed with Dominique & Genevieve 11 years ago and remember it being a great place en route to the tunnel, so we decided to go back. It is every bit as good as it was, if not better than we remembered it. The hospitality is second to none and it is absolutely spotless.

What a great return 11 years on

Around 7pm, we arrived and received a warm welcome from Dominique and his wife. We sat in the garden with them for a short chat, and realized that we are their only guests! It felt so special to have such a nice garden only for the two of us! The grass was mowed the same day before our arrival, and the garden was surrounded by colorful flowers and sweet smelling roses.
 The next surprise was our room. Everything was chosen with care for beauty and the comfort of the guests: mattresses, curtains, toiletteries, the variety of tea and coffee ... Even the hair drier was a high quality one!
 When we woke up the following day, our host was setting up the breakfast table in the garden. We couldn't wish for more options, and all were fresh and tasty!
 We stayed there for 3 days, overwhelmed by the amount of love and kindness we received from our dear hosts. We will go back for sure, to meet again the two beautiful souls who left their memories in our hearts forever.

A small piece of the Heaven!

We booked La Coulonniere as a stop-over before taking the ferry back to the UK the following day. We were at the end of two weeks wonderful holiday travelling through France and really were only looking for a comfortable night before a long journey home to the North East of England. Upon arrival we received the warmest welcome we've ever had from any host. Dominique and Genevieve seemed so pleased to see us , it was like meeting old friends! The only guest room is fabulous with a lovely aspect onto the garden and a private entrance. The place was spotless and the bed was very comfortable - it's an electrically adjustable bed (if you enjoy that sort of thing)! Dominique's English is better than our French but still limited, however he went out of his way to try and help us and booked a restaurant for us for that evening. Our breakfast was served in the garden and again it was first class with perfectly cooked eggs, pastries, fruit, yoghurt etc which Dominique is obviously proud to point out are all locally produced, he even packed up the pieces we couldn't eat for our journey. We were sorry to leave after just one night but we'll definitely stay here again when we get the chance.

Warmest of hosts

Having had one delightful stay here we booked a second time hoping that it would be just as good as before.We weren't disappointed! The same warm welcome, the same high quality comfortable accommodation and the same copious gourmet breakfast beautifully served by our host. Everything was superb. Thank you, Dominique and Genevieve - we look forward with pleasure to our next visit.

A second wonderful stay

Many thanks to Dominique & Genevieve for the warmest of welcomes. Absolutely perfect after a long day travelling. The accommodation is superb. The attention to detail was outstanding- coffee machine, fine teas, even a nightcap! Breakfast couldn't be faulted. Excellent local produce. What we thought would have been a rather flat stopover at the end of our holidays was actually a highlight. 

Fabulous stay

What a delightful place and fabulous hosts! We arrived after a long drive to the warmest of welcomes from Dominique, Genevieve and their friends. After a relaxing couple of glasses of wine and nibbles, Dominique kindly booked us a table at a local restaurant, which was every bit as good as he'd said. The room was gorgeous, beautiful furnishings and finished to an exceptionally high standard - even down to lovely little touches like a Nespresso machine for a late night coffee. The breakfast was beautifully prepared and served by Dominique in full chef's gear...and was absolutely delicious! Looking forward to finding an excuse to go back.

Perfect last night!

This was the last night of our holiday in Europe and what a place to finish off. It was absolutely delightful. The apartment was spacious, spotlessly clean with lovely views of the owners garden.  We were greeted by the owners daughter, who spoke excellent English. She offered us a glass of wine and then proceeded to draw us a map to a restaurant several kilometres away. It was a Sunday and so the only restaurant open. Her directions were first class. The following morning we were served a wonderful breakfast of bread, croissant and jams, followed by fruit and yoghurt and eggs and bacon to follow. Dominique was the most wonderful host. We look forward to staying there again in the not too distant future.
