The Beka guesthouse is a small, friendly home stay that has impressive views across the city.  The guesthouse is quite difficult to get to but once you arrive I don't think that you will be disappointed.  The Beka accommodation  is situated in a quiet residential street near to the Besarion Gabashvili Park.  There is a cable car that will take you down to the city.  The owner and staff were very friendly.  The Georgian cuisine was appetising 
It was nice to spend our evening drinking Georgian beer on the verandah watching the evening light over the city.

Arriving into Kutaisi early evening without a hotel reservation we read about the Beka Hotel in our guidebook, gave them a call and made a reservation.  Granted the guesthouse was out of the way but for 1 night it wasn't a concern of ours. 

Not finding an open restaurant nearby we picked up some food and brought it back to our room.  The view from our room onto the City was great.  We were even entertained with fireworks.

The room was OK.  It had a private bath but it didn't have closets, a new experience for me.

Seeing my confusion one of the owners brought in chairs for our luggage.  There is always a solution.  This same woman also brought in an extra table, unasked, when she saw we were eating in our room.

Granted no one spoke English but smiles and a helpful hand made our short stay a memorable one.

A friendly guest housel with impressive views across the city of Kutaisi

Friendly Guesthouse

This is homestay than a proper hotel, located just outside Kutaisi center. Standard rooms with basic comfort. Stayed one night while traveling in Georgia with a Dutch tour group. Bathrooms are old style with shower curtains etc. The rooms in ground floor didn’t have any views. The old lady who runs the place doesn’t speak English but good in communication with body language.  The dinning room is new and modern. The dinner and breakfast are served there. May be a place to stay for budget travelers. 

Homestay than a hotel, basic facilities, friendly family 

Difficult to locate and a long steep walk to the main town.
Rooms are recently decorated but furniture including beds have not been replaced ... similar towels etc so is very basic. Much more a guest house or homestay than a hotel
Wifi is intermittent throughout and food is basic, fried eggs and bread for breakfast,  no juice, self serve instant coffee etc ...bread plentiful. Location means you need to be half board and evening meal also very basic.
Staff do not speak English which is fine if you are part of group or have translator. Otherwise you will struggle. 
Fans from bathroom do not switch off so keep you awake at night. 
Bathrooms small and mini wet room so get soaked quickly.
Views from some rooms are special but communal verandah very basic and very windy.
Hotel 2 doors away and only slightly more expensive but with all modern conveniences ... sorry Beka but would use hotel next visit.

Not a hotel, more a guesthouse or homestay

From Beqa guesthouse there are great views of the city and beyond to the hills. Most rooms have  this view and a shared  balcony to sit and enjoy it. It takes a 15 minute walk to the city centre. This small family guest house is very basic but welcoming. We ate both breakfast and evening meal there. The food was traditional Georgian fare and the portions were very generous. Wifi was extremely intermitent. Unfortunately some of the bathrooms on the top floor had a problem with smelly drains. Other than that it was a good place to stay.
