On a recent motorbike tour of Germany this was our first stop and stay from our starting point from the Hook of Holland that morning. Parked the bikes right outside the hotel, which was handy. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were as expected, plenty of it and fresh. 
Beautiful location on the Mosel just opposite the river ferry. To top it off the courtyard terrace area was a bonus where a few beers could be enjoyed whilst taking in the stunning scenery.

Would definitely stay here a second time if I was coming to this part of the world again.

A little gem.

Small,friendly and in a perfection location opposite the river boat quay. Very pleasant host and cosy rooms.Breakfast very good with fresh rolls and orange juice. Room had balcony had fantastic river view. Comfortable bed and bathrom facilities. Limited places to eat out in Alf as it is a small village.

We always choose a base where we have the option to eat in in the evenings. During our stay the cafe was closed, presumably as it was between seasons and the passing trade did not warrant it - the weather certainly did, being hot and sunny in mid-April. So if a restaurant on-site is important to you, check with the very affable host before you commit. The room was fine, big comfortable bed, with a balcony and a mini-kitchenette, and views over the river - again important for us (this was Room no.1). Breakfasts were ample and always included eggs as well as cheeses/meats and some fruit e.g. grapes, strawberries, kiwi etc - and the freshly-squeezed orange juice was always super.  Overall this was very good value for money, and the village is a good jumping-off point for touring the Moselle Valley.

A  pleasant B&B but cafe not operating when we were there

Stayed here on a business trip. The room was spacious and very warm which we were thankful for as the weather was very cold. Hot shower and adequate bathroom. Comfortable bed with thick feather duvet. Large wardrobe with plenty of hanging space and drawer space. Small kitchen with hob, kettle microwave and sink, table and chairs. Our room had a balcony with a lovely view to the river. TV had satellite but only had 2 English channels but that seems to be the norm in Germany. Lovely dining room with a large scrumptious breakfast every morning. Our room was facing the main road but we did not suffer from road noise at night as the shutters seemed to block out any traffic noise. I would take a tea towel and a tin opener if you plan on using the kitchen as there wasn't either although I am sure we would have been given the required items if we had asked as Gunther our host was very nice and aimed to make our stay as comfortable as possible, which it was. A good find for a short winter break and it will be even better in the summer for a nice holiday. Bakery next door where you can eat in.

Lovely Located Guesthouse

We found this B&B through the internet. The price was in line with our daily budget for hotels. Gunter was our friendly host. His breakfast's are wonderful with your very own coffee carafe and fresh squeezed orange juice. The fresh breads came from the bakerie 2 doors down. I was sure I could smell it baking in the early mornings. ha.. The fresh meats and cheese came from the deli just down the street and we were served something different every morning. The tables are covered with linens and fresh flowers to make your dinning a pleasure. It's central location is directly across the street from the tour boats and Mosel river. We had a front room view and small kitchenet that over looked the river, outside our window was beautiful flowers in the flower boxes. Our stay was truly one of our highlights of Germany.
