Booked a week bed and breakfast with daily entrance into Vita Classica sauna paradise. We were given a very warm welcome from Gabriela on arrival and shown to our room which was on the first floor. The room was very spacious and very comfortable. We had a large balcony which got the sun most of the day. The room was well laid out with large flat screen TV which swivelled so you could watch from the bed. The room also had a table and two chairs, fridge and a lockable cabinet.

The hotel is situated a 3 minute walk from Vita Classica and the Kurpark and a 10 minute walk to the centre of Bad Krozingen, through the beautiful Kurpark.

Breakfast was excellent German cuisine with a good selection of different fresh rolls, boiled eggs, hams, cheeses, yoghurts, cereals, six different local jams etc. All the produce was excellent quality and we enjoyed our breakfasts every day..

Gabriela and her husband Ulrich were excellent hosts and lovely people as were their two sons. They made us feel very welcome and both spoke excellent English and often engaged in conversation with us.They recommended the Pappelhof restaurant to us which is away from Bad Krozingen and into the next village at Biengen and a 20 minute walk from the hotel. It was a beautiful walk to this restaurant especially on a warm sunny evening, passing all the cornfields. What a superb recommendation this was as the food was excellent. The rump steak was huge, thick (nothing like the thin rump steaks we get in the UK) and cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. This was our favourite restaurant of all we ate in at Bad Krozingen.

Other good places to eat are Hotel Adler (30 minute walk from the hotel), Amselhof (25 minutes walk from the hotel) and the Korfu Restaurant (10 minute walk) and Lowen (10 minute walk).

We visited Vita Classica every day (which we had visited before) and the whole of Vita Classica is the most amazing spa/sauna/wellness place and always very busy. Food and drink in Vita Classica is very well priced and excellent quality as well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pension Gabriela, and were sad to leave. This hotel is a very well run family hotel and we will definitely return and can highly recommend for anyone staying in Bad Krozingen. Already looking to return in 2013 and Pension Gabriela is now the only place for us in Bad Krozingen.

A Gem of a Find in Bad Krozingen

We were referred by the lady at Information Bad Krozingen.  The Vita Classica spa is separate from the wellness centre and there are a bunch of hotels opposite them and nearby.  The price at Hotel-Pension Gabriela was much more reasonable then the nearer places and was still walking distance.  The owners were lovely and the place was clean and nice. The only negative was that you couldn't get the WIFI reception in the room.  Had to sit downstairs near reception to use the free WIFI. We had massages at the wellness centre (lovely but expensive) and went to the spa (which is just a couple of pools and a sauna - nothing  special) and walked across the parks to an area near the train station where we had the best german sausages on bread rolls from a van (sooo good).
