Above and Beyond Service with. A View! First, the hotel reception counter is also the cake display. What a welcome! The location is a long uphill walk from the center but doable for the fit and best in sunny weather conditions. Free parking within the fenced area of the hotel in what seems like a safe and secure neighborhood. The rooms are nice sized although the bathroom very small, yet efficient. Super fresh and yummy breakfast with something for everyone. But this hotel will stand out in our memories for the wonderful panoramic view of Bamberg AND the exceptional service from Janine. You see, the Euro Cup games were one reason for our trip to Europe and watching them very important. We had inquired upon check-in about watching at the hotel should we not find a place in town. We watched the earlier game at the Brasserie with an excellent meal! Rain prompted an early taxi back. Janine had kindly left a note on our door. My husband and our travel companions, another couple, enjoyed a private viewing with one click of the "on" button on the remote. A late game in our lounge wear was so enjoyable and a holiday treat! 

Above and Beyond Service with. A View!

Cosy hotel located high above Bamberg with magnicifent view both from the restaurant and the room. Good wifi, free parking outside. About 15 min walk to the center, note however, very steep hill (16%) to negotiate. There is a local bus that seemed to run frequently and stops right outside the hotel. Room was clean, spacious and beds comfortable. Wifi free and good. Friendly staff and quick check-in. No lift in the building. We had dinner at the hotel which was fine (wienerschnitzel), very large portions! Breakfast was also good, plenty of choices. We chose this hotel primarily because we had read that parking is scarce and difficult in town, many one way streets and narrow roads. Would recommend a visit both to Bamberg and this hotel.

Nice hotel, convenient location

This hotel occupies an enviable spot on a hillside about 10 mins walk above the old city which gives it amazing views over the city. However, the  hotel is let down by the state of the property and the general lack on love given to the offering. We had a room at the front with terrace which gave us a great view through the rain and mist (not their fault!). The room smelt of smoke and the ashtray on the terrace was full of cigarette ends. The bathroom had a glass see-through door which offered zero privacy. The lighting was harsh and it just lacked a cosy welcome which would have been welcome. The hotel staff all evacuate the property at 6pm which we found quite unusual. Question: why don’t they offer evening meals in the restaurant which could really take advantage of the view?

Could be so much better...

Lovely views but a fair trek into town.  Breakfast was good.  Staff welcoming.  Room comfortable but beware.... you can hear everything the naughty people are doing in the next room.  all. night.long.on.and.on.and.on.


Expensive for basic hotel

En primer lugar quiero dejar constancia de que no soy ningún robot, ni persona malintencionada para dañar la imagen del hotel.
Simplemente quiero advertir sobre mi experiencia para que no le suceda a otros viajeros.
Mi número de reserva con Booking.com fue la 2052753307.
Llegué a Bamberg en un vuelo a Nuremberg procedente de Madrid, sobre las 22:00, y llegué al hotel sobre las 23:00, pero no había absolutamente nadie en recepción. 
Llamé repetidas veces al timbre sin éxito, hasta que hacia las 23:30 me contestó con muy malos modales para decirme que estaba cerrado desde las 19:00 y me colgó. 
Ni siquiera me dio opción a explicarme, o me ofreció ningún tipo de ayuda para encontrar otro alojamiento.
Insisto, con muy mala educación.
Al día siguiente me presenté tras pasar la noche en otro hotel que encontré bastante lejos de allí, y me dijeron que la habitación ya se la habían dado a otro. Eso sí, después de cobrarme por la noche que no pasé allí.
El departamento de reclamaciones de Booking.com no se ha hecho cargo porque dice que son normas del hotel. Pero calificar de hotel a un establecimiento que no se responsabiliza de sus inquilinos desde las 19:00 es simplemente un error.
Espero que nadie más tenga que pasar por mi situación.

First of all I want to record that I am not a robot, nor a malicious person to damage the image of the hotel.
I just want to warn about my experience so that it does not happen to other travelers.
My reservation number with Booking.com was 2052753307.
I arrived in Bamberg on a flight to Nuremberg from Madrid, around 10pm, and arrived at the hotel around 11pm, but there was absolutely no one in reception.
I repeatedly phoned the bell without success, until around 11:30 pm he replied with very bad manners to tell me that it was closed since 7:00 p.m. and he hung up on me.
He did not even give me an option to explain myself, or offered me any help to find another accommodation.
I insist, with very bad education.
The next day I showed up after spending the night in another hotel that I found quite far away, and they told me that the room had already been given to another. Yes, after charging me for the night I did not spend there.
Booking.com claims department has not taken over because it says they are hotel rules. But to qualify a hotel as an establishment that does not take responsibility for its tenants since 7:00 p.m. is simply a mistake.
I hope no one else has to go through my situation.

Sencillamente impresentables (Reservado con Booking).

Very good, high quality but affordable. Great view from the restaurant and the breakfast was very tasty (we haven't tried the other meals). Not in the center of Bamberg but very close (you can reach it on foot). Friendly staff and a very comfortable bed.

Ausgezeichnet!

We stayed in the hotel just for a night . It is located in a very quiet and nice location. The decoration really wasn't my style , but at least the room was clean. The breakfast was average, I would expect more variety.   Nevertheless the hotel offers a fantastic view to the whole city of bamberg.
