We spent four nights here while exploring Berchtesgaden. What a wonderful find! This is a great quality bed and breakfast in a large traditional German house. We stayed in the Kehlstein Suite which had two large balconies with views to the south and east - amazing views of the mountains including the iconic Watzmann and the Eagle’s Nest. Our accommodation was extremely spacious with a separate sitting area plus TV and a fridge tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom was super clean with a whirlpool bath and superb shower which was also a sauna. Our hostess was kind and helpful and provided a brilliant breakfast with eggs cooked to order. We ate outside most mornings - what more could you ask for gazing at the incredible alpine  views while enjoying your morning coffee? We also loved meeting Max the dachshund! Berchtesgaden is a ten minute walk but there are several excellent restaurants nearer than that. We really enjoyed our stay - don’t miss this beautiful Bavarian retreat! 

Beautiful Bavarian Bedroom 

We stayed here for 4 nights in a suite with the most amazing view of the mountains. The  suite itself was very spacious with a surround balcony with doors off both the bedroom and living area. There was also a small area containing a fridge. The bathroom was spacious, modern with an amazing shower, separate large walk in wardrobe and a great hairdryer...for those requiring same. The owners were extremely helpful. Alpenvilla is about 10 minute walk downhill to the town centre. Just remember you have to go back up the hill. Great accommodation and a beautiful part of Germany. Highly recommended.

A beautiful place to stay 

Although slightly tough to find, it's well worth it.  The rooms were actually suites and looked brand new.  The view of the Watzmanns was incredible.  Located up a hill, parking is a little tough since you have to park the vehicle at the bottom of the hill after unloading.  Land Lady, owner, is extremely friendly as is her dog, Max!  Great breakfast which the Land Lady, owner, cooks.
Highly recommended.

Friendly people, great view, fantastic rooms

This is a small hotel, 7 rooms, with large rooms. Ours was modern and up to date. We spent 4 nights here in October with friends. Great people, excellent service and our room faced the Watzmann mountain. Hard to beat that. We highly recommend the Alpenvilla on your next visit to this area.

My husband and I just returned from a 3 night stay at this wonderful hotel. I must say - it was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. The owners were kind and helpful, and the view could not be beat. Everything was clean and comfortable and it was obvious that great care was put into every last detail. I hope to some day find myself back in Berchtesgaden, and if I do I will for sure stay at Alpenvilla!

Amazing stay in the Alps!

The view!!  What a view, plus we enjoyed the wonderful large, comfortable, clean room to spend 5 nights in the Alps.  The owners obviously take great pride in running their Villa.  It was chilly while we were there, so breakfast was in the lovely breakfast room, instead of on the patio.  Breakfast consisted of a nice selection of a typical European breakfast, as well as made-to-order eggs.

We also had a little trouble finding the Villa to begin with.  I'm sure once they get their construction completed, the entrance will be easier to find.  (It's up around the corner from where Google Maps says it is).  Luckily, we had the picture of Alpenvilla and could see it from the road below... we just had to figure out how to get to it.

The only suggestion I'd have would be to make the lobby have motion-sensor lights, to warm it up a little on arrival.  Being a smaller hotel, there is no 24 hour desk, and there is low-level lighting on in the lobby.  I never did figure out how to increase the lighting (I didn't try that hard..)
