We were very impressed by this place: from location to the warmth of the owners, everything was perfect!
We had a flat on the first floor, with a long terrace and great views of the Alps: on one side the Kehlstein and on the other side the Berchtesgadener Alps.
The view is so perfect that we ended up having most of our dinners on that terrace instead of going to look for a restaurant. 
The flat is nicely decorated, feeling bright, calm and clean.
On arriving in our flat we found a great homebaked cake from Christa's mother and other very thoughtful and useful treats left by Christa for us.
Christa is always smiling and helpful. She can give you tips for what to see and when to go to certain places, for restaurants and so on.

Depending on which direction you're coming from, it is a bit tricky at the beginning to figure out how to enter the road that goes to the guesthouse, as it might seem that you need to make a 180 degrees turn but there are 2 ways to enter.
The drive up/down can seem a bit challenging for some people, especially as you need to be careful when other cars come from the opposite direction. I think that the drive works better at night as the lights make it easier to see any oncoming vehicles. Once you get used to it, not a big deal.

We mainly did our food shopping in Berchtesgaden at ReWe, but there is supposed to be a small Edeka store close by.

If we go back to Berchtesgaden in the future, we'd definitely stay there again.

And another definite plus, the wifi works great :-) !

A very special place

Christa was a fabulous host who went well and truly out of her way to make us feel at home with fresh strudel, beer and chocolates on arrival and even bringing out some schnapps and snacks when she saw us one night out on the deck.  The self contained accomodation was spacious, very clean and comfortable just like being at home.  The guesthouse is on top of a plateau with amazing views of the mountains and surrounded by meadows, complete with donkeys and deer! Walking trails all around ( the apartment even had walking poles) . The drive up is tricky, a single lane sealed road, wouldn't attempt it at night for the first time but you do get used to it quickly and the accommodation and views are certainly worth it.  We had a fabulous 5 nights in Berctesgaden, plenty to do and see here and we are so pleased we stayed at Guesthaus Larcheck, it was fantastic!

Beautiful friendly place to stay

My husband, 2 sons and I spent 5 wonderful days at Gastehaus Larcheck the last week of September. We rent apartments and homes throughout our travels and Gastehaus Larcheck is by far the most modern, well appointed, spacious and idyllic place we have ever rented. We were calling it home by the second day.  First the practical facts: Spotless, well equipped, comfortable, spacious and breathtaking views.   Although the drive to the Gastehaus is an adventure in itself we very quickly were navigating the road like pros. Our hosts, Christa, Christian, lovely Grandma Liesel (and even Max the kitten) were so friendly and helpful. They provided many welcome surprises for us and even had knapsacks and walking sticks in the apartment for us to use. 
The views from the apartment balconies and rooms are spectacular.  At night we star gazed and then would see the lights from  Eagles Nest. During the day we would sit on the balcony surrounding the apartment and marvel at the scenic views. There is even a walking trail 300 yards from the house. 
We had so much to do in the ares in 5 days and this location was close to everything we wanted to do.  We were so fortunate to have found Gastehaus Larcheck.  We will be back!

Why Would You Stay Anywhere Else?

we stay for whithe-week and we stay very well, like our holiday in august. The apartment was clear, like we know through the web site, Christa is a very kindly and efficient host and the place is really wonderfull, near the national park the nature is fantastic. We ( my wife Laura and my three childrens ) sure ''ll go back next year .
