This place has left a lasting impression on my wife and I simply because it has one of the best hosts we have ever experienced. Silvia and Jan are the most gracious hosts you can find. When traveling abroad, we often rely on the kindness of people to help us through. Here our host went above and beyond their usual roles, not only provided us with the nearby attractions and estimated traveling and touring time, helped us with restaurant reservations, but also taken care of all our accidental needs, and answered all our questions about the region. They are resourceful and knowledgeable, and best of all, they are friendly and always ready to help.

During our stay, one morning when we entered the breakfast room, we were surprised with a birthday cake and the festive decoration. Silvia and Jan were so thoughtful that they went out of their way to celebrate my birthday. We arrived as strangers, we departed as friends.

Gracious hosts

Stayed at the Mosel-Landhaus while in Germany to watch a race at the Nuerburgring, it turned out to be the best part of the weekend. Silvia and Jan were great hosts - Silva made breakfast every morning, and packed lunches when we left too early for breakfast, Jan took us up to a spot to get a look at the whole valley. The Moselle River Valley is out of a German fairy tale, with castles on hills overlooking their villages dotting the river, and everywhere another excellent vista, hike, cafe, or glass of local wine. The countryside surrounding the valley is gorgeous, carpeted in deep green grass and bright yellow canola fields. The B&B is a great home base, and I am already planning my return.

Fantastic B&B

My husband and I just returned from out trip to Germany. One of the B&B we stayed in was Mosel-Landhaus. Silvia and Jan were perfect hosts. The place is right on the river bank and the view from our room in the morning was breathtaking. Very neat place with a hearty breakfast. The village is small but very centrally located on Mosel river. Silvia and Jan were very friendly and gave us advise on how to spend our time there. Overall, very nice and pleasant stay.

Moselle river B&B

This is a beautiful part of the Moselle Valley. Overlooking the river and able to watch ferry travel. Hosts are lovely. Breakfast was a good start to the day. Tiny village does not have supermarket, but does have dining houses and even a bottle shop in a neighbour's basement  Traveling around the valley, we found many houses made and sold their own wine and many older people on holidays. Only negative, I found no internet access a problem.

Lovely B&B

Perfect - We booked two nights and stayed four. We typically travel at our own pace with a flexible schedule. When we find a place we like, we will linger and enjoy our new surroundings. Mosel-Landhaus was perfect. We used it as home base for touring both the Mosel and Rhine valleys. Jan and Sylvia, the owner/operators, were extremely helpful. They pointed out hidden gems of spectacular view of the river valley, restaurants, architecture, and local activities along both river valleys that fit our style perfectly. At the end of a day, they have a great little patio overlooking the Mosel River with a wine bar where you pick your local wine and recover from the day’s activities.

The Mosel-Landhaus has very comfortable rooms overlooking the river which is 50 feet away. The location is in a small town, Briedern. The streets are quiet and there are no trains along this section of the Mosel (ensuring a good nights sleep). The home cooked breakfast with local meats, cheese, fruits, jams, breads, pastries, etc… are perfect to get you started. From Briedern, it is easy to make day-trips to the sites and towns along both Rhine and Mosel river valleys. Jan and Sylvia can even arrange bus and/or boat tours.

Jan and Sylvia were a delight and very willing to take the time to join us in conversations. The Mosel valley is one of the most pleasant, relaxing, and scenic areas to enjoy in Germany. Mosel-Landhaus is definitely one of the places we will return to.
