Stopped for one night en route from Denmark to Italy for Christmas .We had a very enjoyable stay. Comfortable room and great local cuisine in the restaurant.
Dinner and breakfast were very very good. The staff were great.
A super start to our Christmas break.

A great find 

A wonderful place with history, and so nice and kind and friendly staff. Full of attention for the guests. The place  in the middle of the forest is unique, 7 spring with rejuvenation, house from 1400 century. My full recommendation for everything here

A wonderful place to visit

Great authentic German experience in the country.  Friendly family run hotel - where peacocks roam! Excellent breakfast and dinner. Good location for day trips to Rothenberg, Bamberg, Wurzberg and Nuremberg. Highly recommended. 

Authentic German experience.

We stayed at this historic hotel/inn for 2 nights. Nestled in the woods, it was like a storybook. We arrived late but Martin, the host, was wonderful.  Some schnapps was given to calm my nerves (it had been a very long ride in wet weather) and we were provided a wonderful suite of rooms. The morning breakfast was amazing and we reserved dinner early so as to be sure to get a table outside. I can’t really explain how charming the place is- you will just have to experience it for yourself.  Martin works hard to provide a great experience and a very good kitchen! All the family and staff were truly wonderful. It is very near historic city Rothenburg ob der Tauber, and the town of Burgbernheim has a lovely walking park and labyrinth. We had a great day visiting the Frankisches Freilandmuseum in Bad Windsheim.  Oh- and the water they use at the hotel is still the famous spa water that the hotel was built for a few centuries ago. Really delicious. Enjoy!

Best part of our trip.

Went up for dinner with the family.  On top of the hill and cute place.  Good food and relaxing atmosphere.  Parking is at the top of the hill and walk down to hotel and restaurant.  Dessert was good and not so busy on a Monday night!

We often drive until we decide to stop and then look for a place to stay. This was no exception. Hubby found this hotel on Trip Advisor and, although it was off the beaten path, we decided to drive the distance to view it and enquire about vacancy. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer and do some hiking. The room was clean and comfortable, the grounds were beautiful, the food fantastic and the people delightful!  We had trout for dinner - it was as fresh as you can get as they are maintained live on the property. 

Would love to stay here again!

A Real Gem!

Beautiful and big charming family run Hotel with restaurant hidden in the middle of the woods, which we found on the way back from Germany to Italy. Perfect for a short stay, but also for a longer one.
Easy to reach from the highway, approx. 8km.
The rooms have been restored and are comfortable with private bathroom.
The hosts are very friendly and helpful, and even after our arrival after 21:30 they still offered us to prepare a quick German dinner with a big fresh beer.....
The place is romantic, the garden beautiful, and in the morning we met free peacocks running around showing their beauty to the guests.
We'll come back for sure ;)

Hidden treasure in the woods

The place preserves an old and authentic architecture. The rooms are basic, yet clean and provide basic amenities. Breakfast was limited in options as well. The staff was attentive, however not going the extra mile. (we arrived late in the evening and ordered a bottle of water to take in the room. next day after the cleaning lady came the empty bottle was still on the night drawer. I guess she could have remove it or we could have been asked if we want a refill). this maybe a suggestion to the owner if he/she reads this.
Also, noticed a smell of kitchen in the hallways, surprisingly also in the upper building where we haven't seen a kitchen.
Anyways, It was a pleasant stay, close to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, so a good choice for a very short stay.

Secluded and hidden but well worth the trip. Marvelous traditional German fare. Romantic setting with walkways and paths. Super friendly. Great for couples or families. Food is absolutely amazing....freshly prepared. Comfortable accommodations for overnight stays as well. Do not miss the opportunity!

Absolutely Wonderful

A really fantastic plase, the hotell with it's surroundings is great. The restaurant and the food is amasing. This is really a place to stop when you drive through Germany on the A7. Highly recomended from us.
