This is a beautiful location and the service outside on the terrace was friendly, helpful and hospitable. The food, from vegetarian, fish and meat was delicious and skilfully  presented. The portions were generous without being excessive and we all left very happy!

Fabulous meal in wonderful riverside atmosphere

This was a last minute booking for a business trip but we couldn't have ben more pleased with our choice. Our room was clean and the bed very comfortable.  Despite our late arrival they accommodated us for a meal on their terrace by the Rhine, which was wonderful. The breakfast room was calm and relaxing and served a delicious variety of traditional hot and cold foods. The service was exceptional from all staff but we would like to commend Markus and Isabel particularly for their patience and attention to detail.  We hope to be able to visit again, and highly recommend for other travellers to this region. Thank you Hotel & Restaurant Alte Rheinmuhle

Outstanding!

Nice hotel, wonderful location, and good meeting opportunities. However, extremely unfortunate, suffering respiratory allergies, this hotel was a suffering for me. Carpets all around, of which i wonder if they are sufficiently cleaned, rooms and blankets not very clean,... pity (also for me), but i cannot have another stay in this hotel.

Nice hotel but dramatic if allegies

A really lovely restaurant. Ate here on our first night of holiday and the food and service were both excellent!   We went back 4 days later and the owner remembered which wine we had on our previous visit and also remembered how Peter liked his steak cooking! Lovely little gestures that made us feel valued customers. Eating there again tomorrow, on our last night. Definitely recommend it!

Lovely restaurant

This is a lovely old hotel that lacks some modernity but is genuinely nice to stay in. We had a room overlooking the river. It was serine and quiet; large and quite well appointed. No aircon. so a bit warm. Nice bathroom. Good service in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Lovely dining room. You need a car here, I think. Easy access Schaffhausen and riverboat trips. 

Lovely, old-world hotel on the Rhine

Great for dinner outside in the evenings, for a quick business stay (I stayed here and worked in Schaffhausen. a 40 minute walk in the morning, which was quite managable)
The staff are nice and helpful.
Don't expect too much english capacility here. It might help you to have a few words of German. The staff with certainly appreciate it.
Food is rich, heavy, typicaly Swiss/German and very fine. The local wines are surprisingly good.

Lovely building built on the edge of the Rhein river in a German enclave

I stayed in this hotel for two nights during a business trip. Nice rustic location directly located at the bank of river Rhine. The rooms are simple, not large but very clean. The breakfast is excellent. The dinner menue is very exquisit, to my mind a bit too much trying to be 'haute cuisine'. The personnel is very friendly and courteous. It's very relaxing to sit in the restaurant and to look over the river Rhine.
