A fantastic wine shop in its own production. The rosé wines are more than recommended! If you're looking for an owner-run shop, you're at the right address! Not only is the Haxel family super friendly and hospitable, but the wines are excellent too!

Secret tip, and I like it all the time.

Great wine cellar and terrace. Delicious wines, great and fair prices and, above all, very nice owners! It's fun to be a guest there. You have a great view of the Pinnerberg and the cross. Just go and stay - again and again!

This is a great wine place.

Rooms: Our room was very clean, there is a TV and a sofa, it was not hot in the room despite the August heat. There is an electric jealousy to completely darken. The bathroom has a window. Overall we slept very well, and breakfast can be enjoyed beautifully outside under the roof of the vineyards. Vineyard: The vineyard is covered with vines - you sit very comfortably here. The wine is super delicious (the sect too) and the wine pair is very nice. The steep vineyard house (with a monorail track, you can see two entrances from the parking lot) belongs to the winery. We were out for a walk in Co, which is a very convenient place to start the winery.

That's great!

We discovered the sweet wine shop while we were walking around. We first drank a bottle of rosé and then made the wine rack for 10 euros. Super price! We had 7 small 50 ml of wine. From red to white. Unfortunately there was no advice on this but only numbers under the wines, so you could see on the map what you were drinking. But there was also no information on cultivation or aroma descriptions. Nonetheless, it was very nice!

This is a guest house with extremely friendly staff that speak English.  Car parking is available next to the hotel, not the multi-storey.  Breakfast was very good.  The room was very clean and tidy, ours was called Fiona, very quiet. Only a few hundred metres from the centre of Cochem.

European trip

Here you can sit comfortably under old vines and taste the many homemade wines. We each ordered a small carrousel with different wines in small glasses and the wine plate with sausage, cheese, vegetables, various slices and homemade bread. Everything is fresh and super delicious! The wines were mostly also very good. Recommended!

Small wine sample

We booked this weingut as it looked very inviting on their website, lovely place to site outside enjoying their own wines. Unfortunately they did not mentioned anything that the outside area is closed in early season. This was a disappointment for us. The room was ok but just ok, no place to spend an hour reading. Breakfast was ok.

Cochem is a very popular and touristy place. I had booked this room quite late. I had seen some bad reviews. But hey, it was just for one night.
The 'Weingut' is probably about 15 minutes walk from the station 'Bahnhof Cochem'.
This winery is in a valley, on a busy road, situated right beside a massive multistory car park.
The room (I think it was 'Flavia') felt small and dark, it felt very old-fashioned and shabby. The view through the small window is onto a big roof. 

The grey carpet looked ancient and it was was loose, it's easy to trip. The thin mattress felt uncomfortable. Every time I turned my bed creaked horribly.
The bathroom was narrow and dark but clean.
There was a flat screen TV.

Breakfast was okay, but watch out! The white stuff is NOT yogurt but mayonnaise.There seemed a lot of smokers about. You could smell the cigarette smoke.

I spoke to the owner about the room though unfortunately they had no other rooms available in the Weingut, they were booked out.

But had I seen this specific room earlier on in the day I would  have paid, left and booked myself into a nicer place.
There were 'Zimmer frei' signs in town, also at the large hotels by the river.

The costs were 75 Euros for two including breakfast. Compared to the other wonderful 'Weingüter" and lovely hotels we stayed in this was overpriced for the standard of this specific room.
But then Cochem is a very touristy place.

A not very nice at all room and an uncomfortable night

Our two nights were very comfortable. We had a secure place to park our car and enjoyed wine, breakfast, the ambiance, and the owners. Convenient to everything, we couldn't be happier. Internet was also included and worked well. This was part of a long trip so we had too much baggage but were helped to bring things.

Great place to stay

I'm amazed at the positive reviews of this winery. Unfortunately, we can't join in. But we tasted the wine cellar at the winery last week with only two pairs of us last night, and we were there to drink a glass or two of wine. That this wine didn't suit our taste is only mentioned on the fringe. This can always happen and in this case probably stems from the overwhelming northern location of the winery.
