We were allowed to be guests for the second time. The reception, the food, the wine, the service - everything is perfect. Here you will be pampered from the first minute. An explicit recommendation is to visit the restaurant there in the evening. The food is for kneeling down. A perfectly tuned menu, a great selection of wines, excellent service that seeks its like. The excursion destinations are the Genoa and, of course, the beautiful Eifel. The only shortcomings (and that's grumbling at a high level) are the lack of elevator and the little equipment that came into the bed. But you don't have to be influenced by this, because it's clean and you sleep in beds really well.

He's relaxing. A short vacation with great food.

It's an old, simple hotel in a relatively central location, everything is easily accessible on foot. There is no elevator to get to the room, except for a breath. The rooms are clean and well maintained, but the furnishings are very old. If you're looking for rustic, crunchy, rustic oak beds and bathrooms in the 70s, you'll be able to afford it. Very good orchard. Free parking. If the rooms are newly furnished, they're absolutely top, unfortunately only below average weight. Advice to the owners: buyers with some right to modernize some rooms and sell them at a full price.

Simple and clean but partly very old-fashioned

A very clean, simple and perfectly adequate room for one night. Very friendly staff, very very good breakfast, to which we had invited friends! We celebrated our friend's birthday and our wedding anniversary together. The ordered bag went home! Thank you very much!

The hotel was relatively close to the centre, market and castle. The room was large and attractive. A good bed and (pleasantly!) a pillow made me sleep well (even though the street was quite busy). The bathroom was new, spacious enough and equipped with a large shower. All the controls and fittings were fully functional. The breakfast room is large and timelessly modern. The breakfast was good and rich enough, the breakfast was freshly prepared and was certainly perfect. The car is parked in the backyard and free of charge. All in all a good address for a stay in Mayen.

All right for one night.

The hotel is good. The bad thing in general is that the village seems almost abandoned. We arrived at 14:00 and there was no one on the street. It was almost impossible to eat anything, because everything opened from 17:00. We were lucky because we found a café where we made a steak with salad and potatoes. But it was the only one open in the whole town. There was also a hotel, but the kitchen was closed at 14:00 and when we arrived at 14:30, we could not eat either. Regarding the hotel, it is a pretty house in the center of the town. There is no parking and parking in the hotel, so you have to look for life. We ran to a public parking lot that had other exclusive outskirts of the town. When we booked the problem, we indicated that the next room was on the route, but the bathroom was closed at 15:00, so when we arrived at the hotel, we had to get a full service, but when we arrived at the door at 17:00 we had to get a full service, so when we arrived at the bathroom, we had to get ready to go to the bathroom, but when we arrived at the bathroom, we

It's the best design.

We were very welcomed. The location of the hotel was ideal for us. The centre of Mayen, with restaurants and shopping facilities, is easily accessible on foot - about 800m, back to the hotel, however;-) there is a free hotel-owned parking lot, but unfortunately no lift, which makes the climb to the third floor etc. somewhat difficult. As a starting point for entertainment, I can only recommend the hotel. The breakfast was very good. There is everything you need. Especially to emphasize that there is not only ONE type of sausage and A type of cheese, but there was a selection of handmade (the various dishes were made daily).

The hotel is very well maintained, it has a great atmosphere, the owners are very nice and hospitable, the breakfast was very delicious, always to recommend.

It's a short walk from the city centre, but the city centre and the supermarkets are easily accessible from the Eastern Railway Station. The rooms are clean and quiet. They are also comfortable. The boss welcomes you in person. The house invites you to come back.

Nice hotel with a personal atmosphere

The Hotel Zum alten Fritz is an imposing hotel from the founding period, with hall, restaurant and guest rooms. From the history of the house can be seen pictures and programs of dance and carnival events of past times in the modern and chic furnished dining room and a plethora of renowned awards for the restaurant on the way to the hotel. Unfortunately, the restaurant was discontinued some time ago. The hotel, which has been recently renovated, remains intact.

Those staying in Mayen have the choice between different hotels. The choice ranges from more or less private guesthouses to restaurants with rooms where the country's typical cuisine can be clearly smelled. The Hotel Zum Alten Fritz had a highly rated restaurant until the end of 2014, but since January - unfortunately - only rooms. These are large and well maintained, although already a little older. Especially the breakfast is highlighted by the high standard of the former restaurant!
