Two of us arrived from the UK on the Friday evening before the remaining eight friends arrived from Munich and Coburg areas on the Saturday. 
We arrived just as the restaurant was about to close but they agreed to stay open for our dinner order. Sitting outside on the terrace in the sun with a view of a Mare giving the young Foal lessons in trotting etc.  
Ideal for Saturday post hiking drinks on the terrace before dinner with beer at reasonable prices. The restaurant was busy on the Saturday but sat our group together. Although it was the start of the 2018 World Cup it was nice not to have a television in the restaurant. Rooms priced at €43.80 Single and €75.60 with breakfast were good value as well as being clean and more than happy to stay there again.

Nightstop Before Black Forest Hiking Commenced

A typical guesthouse of the 'Ma and Pa' variety that has seen its last makeover sometime in the late 70s (I assume). On the plus side, the room was spacious and clean, as was the bathroom - albeit both completely taste-free. The bed was comfortable enough. TV had reception for the minimum number of stations (none in English, or French) and internet worked ok, though slow, even on the top floor. However, there was a security warning and Chrome flatly refused to connect. My room faced the valley, so it was quiet. The main street of Dobel is surprisingly busy and loud for such a tiny place. I didn't eat at the restaurant - what I saw coming out of the kitchen looked like typical mediocre German cuisine, heavy on meat and potatoes. The breakfast was minimalistic, as was the reception and hospitality. 
The whole of Dobel feels a bit like a time capsule, so, within this context, the hotel fits right in.

great for time travellers

We walked along the west road together and after the first step we arrived here in the lamb. The room was fine, clean, well maintained and of new quality. The service was also okay. Unfortunately there was not all the food on the map. The prices were right for this and it tasted good too. Unfortunately the host had completely old-fashioned views, WiFi was not available despite the offer and we were voted on by the host that it would be good if you didn't always have internet and would be online... Shame, in the future I will book accommodations in Dobel where there is WiFi. Because there are people who depend on the internet to make their money, even my Lord Host!!

Price/performance is fine.

We stayed in the Linde for one night. The room was clean; there was TV, soap, shower gel, no foam. The toilets' pipes make a loud noise. It's better not to have to at night.;-) The orchard floor was fine, the lunch was plentiful, but too quietly grown. The host is very friendly; we got the orchard at half past seven and were able to photograph the sunrise.

Central location - friendly host

We had planned our hike so that we arrived at noon in this cozy inn to eat. It was just the first snow falling and the wind did the rest, so we stayed there a little longer. Since we are all different characters, everyone also ordered something else. But everyone was full of satisfaction with the freshly prepared food with selected regional specialities. For many, it was not the first but also not the last visit.

For a simple stay, with not much of the big amenities that you might be use to
Very good get away, if your intention is to go hiking in the forest or to have a peaceful weekend
The city is extremely quiet, peaceful, clean, and pleasant to be in…it is a certainty that you will forget about home while you are here 
Do not expect to have any major night life or anything wild, this city is mellow and the same can be said about the people
The room size was acceptable, not small and not too big, the bathroom was on the small size but very clean and new, nice size flat screen television with a mixture of languages to include CNN in English
Bed is on the tough side, but did not bother me because this is the way I like a bed
If you are not into wildlife, there were few horses close by, also did not bother me because I love wild life 
No air condition in the rooms but the room was cool in the middle of summer
Overall a pleasant stay

A Wonderful Stay

After a problem with our pre booked hotel, we had to find an alternative late in the evening. This hotel could not have been more helpful and came to our rescue. 
They also allowed us to park our motorcycle in their garage free of charge.

Great local Guest House

A friendly hostel with a friendly boarding house. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and a little old. But at the end of the day, there's everything you need after a long day of hiking. The good-natured cake is very satisfying. The hostel is on the main street, so it could make a little noise on warm swimming days by motorbikes.

typical German gasthouse,easily located. Very clean and tidy.
On arrival,I was very pleased to see a traditional German restaurant with rooms upstairs.The place was well maintained.However,a smile here and there would have been nice.The lady owner was trying to be pleasant but the man was quite rude at times.He twice passed me and my children carrying heavy suitcases and never once offered any help.
The possibility of an evening meal was great after a long drive, however the portions were quite miserly,especially the meat. They are happy to reccomend "spetzler"( I think ) but we did not like it even a little bit: overstodgy and overcooked pasta ,we think, with specks of bacon,we might as well have eaten bricks...Sitting outside on their terrace and sipping wine was great fun,just perfect.
There was a lovely young horse trotting in their garden in the morning which my daughters found delightfull.
The surrounding countryside was beautiful especially for keen walkers as it ties into a large network of routes. We stumbled accross a local tennis club and watched two very able couples play.That was thoroughly enjoyable and people there bothered to talk to us which was great.

fantastic countryside and good accomodation which needs tweeking

A friendly hostel with a friendly guesthouse. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and friendly, everything you can do after a long day of hiking. The well-cooked cake offers variety and you can get up for the next day of hiking. On the terrace you can enjoy the food even more in good weather.
