Great welcome drinks and homemade cakes by the hostess, big and cozy room with budget price, which is also included a great breakfast. The lady also mentioned that I can have a noodle soup if I want. In the next morning, since she knew that I were going to next village along Mosel by cycling, She even prepared a lunch box for me! It is certainly a wonderful hostel. I like the atmosphere very much, and definitely will find time to visit it again!

Although that the Mosel river is very beautiful and you should not take too much time for using electronics devices when traveling, however, if you really need the Internet sometimes, the WiFi quality is actually quite poor in the room and it sometimes even disconnected.

Comfortable room and nice food that makes you feel like home

A great find at an amazing value of 60E per night including breakfast and parking.  Located right on the B49 and within walking distance to the ferry that crosses the Mosel to Beilstein.
Michael welcomed us warmly and after ensuring that we were comfortably settled, he offered us a welcome drink and a plate of freshly baked pastry.  We were assigned a room on the first floor, at the back of the house, however, there are several rooms on the second floor with fabulous views of the river.
Cherry and Michael were wonderful hosts who were genuinely concerned that all our needs would be met.  Breakfast was plentiful with never ending food – yogurt, fresh fruit, eggs, bread – we were encouraged to make sandwiches with the remaining food to take along on our trip.
We even received a parting gift of a box of apples picked from their orchard in their back yard and a bag of freshly made sugar coated almonds.

Great!

This was my second time staying with Cherry & Michael.  I arranged a group party at the hotel, exchanging many emails with Cherry.  She always responded promptly.  They were so accommodating--going out of their way to make it a special weekend for my friends and me.  She recommended a very good restaurant nearby, set up a wine tasting just up the street with lovely hosts, and cooked a wonderful Thai dinner for our party on Saturday night on the lovely terrace.  Everything is vey clean and neat.  The breakfast is something to behold!  Everything is decorated beautifully with fruit.  Everything is SO reasonably priced!  It is such a bargain!  Even though other towns we visited were crowded on that beautiful weekend, Ellenz was quiet and uncrowded.  There is free parking in front of the hotel.  Beautiful Beilstein is just a short ferry ride across the river.  From Beilstein you can take a 1 hr. boat ride to Cochem.

A special weekend!

Delightful hosts speak good english and offer the best accomodations on the Mosel.  We were treated like family on arrival and our family of four had two beautiful rooms overlooking the river.  I believe there are only five rooms here (all upstairs) and four overlook the river, so book quick if available. Our hostess, Cherry, gave us all welcoming drinks on the front patio.  She also cooks up a wonderful Thai dinner on request.  The rooms are sparkling clean and new.  The wonderful breakfast was the best on our three week trip through Europe with wonderful fruit.  If you are reading this review and looking for a very reasonable place to stay on the mosel river, reserve it right away, you'll be glad you did. Best if you are traveling by car. They only take cash, so no credit card reservation is needed.  This was the best value accomodation on our whole trip!
