I visit Emmendingen every year to see old friends. Hotel Markgraf is where I stay. It's a pleasant place with a friendly staff, a good breakfast buffet and its location is great - near the railway station and that cute downtown.

Every year!

We have stayed here quite a few times now. The staff welcomed us like friends. We were allocated a Parkside Room which was ideal. The rooms are very clean and large. A kettle would be good to have in the rooms. The location is good and only a short walk to the centre of the town. Breakfast continental style with plenty of choice. We used the street to park our car at only 2 Euros per day.
The only  downside for us is that as non smokers we could smell smoke in the corridor and room. Wifi was a bit hit and miss.

Very convenient

We stayed here for two nights, four people in two rooms. There is ample parking, which is great. It is also quite handicapped accessible, with a good elevator that goes to all floors (one note: it does not run after 10:30 pm, so if you need the elevator - get in before it shuts down). The rooms are spacious, even by American standards. Clean, newer styling, good repair. Beds are the usual European twins pushed together to make a double. Breakfast was good, free Wifi in hotel (works best in lobby). Nice place, very friendly staff. As others have said, train noise in the rooms in the front of the hotel - by the street front - are noisier because of the close proximity of the train tracks. But we didn't mind it...we got used to the trains, and they stop running between midnight and like 5 am, so it is not constant noise.
