The location could not be better. The hotel is overlooking a beautiful lake from the front and a magnificent garden at the back. Our room was large and very nicely furnished. We were very comfortable. The staff were very friendly. Indeed the receptionist was extremely charming and helpful. All the public areas were charming. The quirkiness came in when we asked the receptionist if there was a bar. Yes she said and pointed us in the direction of it. It turned out to be a small room with many bottles of beer and wine on display. Prominently displayed were the prices and we quickly realised that we had to help ourselves. So after choosing a bottle of wine, we went to the reception and paid for it then took it into a charming little room to drink it. Our only disappointment was that that the restaurant is only open from Wednesday to Sunday and we were there on Monday.
We would very much like to revisit this hotel and spend more time there

Very elegant and a little bit quirky!

Already the first impression was fantastic, like big white ship at the lake. We arrived late but the hospitable owner has left the keys for us with welcoming letter and the room was nice and big with comfortable bed. Next morning we had tasty breakfast outside, facing the lake and felt happy. Location cannot be better, especially when you hire bikes to go around the lake. And the small restaurant opposite hotel, simply gourmet food. Highly recommended.

lovely and homely

Our visit at the Seeschloss was quite surprising, cause it seems like a hotel from a ancient periode. Wifi was not available in the rooms, the interieur a bit old, the blinds not really working, and you could hear every noise through the room doors. The feeling was like in an old fashioned sanatorium. 

Beautiful lake view

Friends of our arrived early and were given keys to our room to give to us.
When we went to room in afternoon the room had not been cleaned, beds were unmade and towelss not changed. But no staff were present at all in hotel - anywehere. The contact phone went to answermachine in unmanned reception!

End of story we had to grap keys in reception to other rooms to find one with made up room - to no avail, we managed to find clean towels.

This is a hotel in true Fawlty Towers style!
