Nice room with a great view of Neuschwanstein Castle from the terrace. The furnishings of the room are useful, but quite tasty. Only the shower separation is a bit of a habit, but this is a high-level mecca. We really enjoyed our short vacation and would always book here again!

Short vacation

The best place on earth. A beautiful room, a fancy balcony and the view from the window, it's just wonderful! In the mail came the instructions on how to get the key. There was no problem opening the safe, there was no parking. I was absolutely delighted. I didn't really want to leave. I highly recommend everyone!!!

It's amazing!

The check-in procedure, unlike what is read in other reviews, is quite simple: a few days before the owner sends an email containing the code of a safe placed on the ground floor of the building, inside is the key to his own apartment with a leaflet with his own name. The key also opens the underground garage, extremely convenient. The area where the apartment is located is a residential area high up on the lake that adjoins Fussen. The location is therefore strategic for visiting the five surrounding areas, starting from the famous castles.

Good compromise.

We had booked in the residence Sonnehange and we ended up in the Landhaus which is neither a hotel nor a residence. Bar in the DRC with noise disturbances until late at night, the hotel overlooks a very busy road just in front, 2 km from the lake and the center, apartment under the roofs it was very hot, my daughter got stung all over the body and face by fleas... We left a day earlier and still have to negotiate. Very, very bad memory!!

I can't help it!

The building is very nice and well maintained, it is a 5-minute drive from Fussen and the castles. These are the only reasons why I didn't give the minimum as a vote. Let's start from the beginning: if booking.com tells us to warn before we arrive, no response from them. Since there is no reception, you have to call the phone number on a security box to get the code: no response from them. The room above the bar, being summer they are all open to drink and laugh, maybe someone likes a little silence. It is also specified that since it is not a hotel you have to clean before you leave. Penalty 15€!

Service Zero

We rented an apartment with a kitchenette but we had a studio without a kitchen plate, just a microwave!

Too much publicity for nothing

As a previous reviewer mentioned, there is no reception on site.  Surly cafe worker downstairs pointed to a phone on the wall and said to call the number.  After a couple of unsuccessful attempts a young man came out of the bar and helped us dial the phone, talk to the property owner, retrieve the key, we would have probably given up if not for him.  Website we booked through said there was free parking - most of the spaces had signs that said "parking for cafe only", we just took one of them, still not sure where the inn's parking was suppose to be

The actual room was quite nice, very nicely decorated and had a lovely balcony with a distant view of the castles  Location is somewhat remote, but there are several eating places a short drive away down by the lake (I wasn't about to give any business to the rude woman downstairs).

We called the owner the following morning as we were leaving to find out what to do with the key and told him to go ahead and charge our card for the stay.  Right after hanging up his wife showed up on site, came through the door and insisted we pay her cash, which was kind of irritating.

All in all, not a bad place but not sure it's worth the additional hassle it took to get checked in and settled.  No wi-fi.

Confusion Reigns

Beautiful apartments in a beautiful house on a hill near a huge lake. The interior is simply fancy, superbly cozy. The room even has its own balcony where you can sit and admire the views.

I wish I could live like this.

Our apartments were with a balcony resembling a large terrace. The apartment was furnished very well in the style of the German gentry. There was no internet - that's even better. A very cozy bathroom with a warm marble floor. Obviously, it's worth your money.

A place like no other.

During our trip through Germany this hotel was the most comfortable, tastefully decorated place to stay. At a reasonable price. Once we entered the room, we just opened the room from surprise. Everything was repaired, paintings hung on the walls, all the furniture and bedding were picked up with taste.. The bathroom was chic! The whole room was made of marble and it was not just a bathroom where you could lie down and relax off the road.. All clean, a few sets of paintings.
