We had a really enjoyable stay here. Mrs. Bauman and Matthias were most helpful and made us feel welcome. The food was yummy and the Koenig Card was a real treat. We used it for discounts at the castles and for a free gondola ride in Reutte, Austria. The room was comfortable, the bathroom was clean and met our approval. The balcony and views of the mountains and lake was truly enjoyable.

We loved our stay at Pension Steigmuehle.

We spent 4 nights at Pension Seigmuehle.  The rooms are spacious and the views from the balcony are lovely.  We used the Konigcard to take a free ride on a gondola in a neighboring town...nice touch to offer this card to guests. 

We also went to the Hotel Alatsee Restaurant for dinner - a very secluded location with excellent food...so much in fact, we had dinner there twice.

Beautiful Views

A spotless pension on the beautiful Weissensee, we rented an apartment for a week, it was huge, with a lovely balcony with fanatic views, a bread & bottle service is also provided.  They do B&B also. We received a Konigs Card on arrival &it allowed us free on the buses, boat trips, bike hire, cable car, swimming pools, golf, mini golf & free into loads of other places too. Great value. There are places to eat less than 5 min walk away, plus a lovely café on the lake. A local supermarket nearby. It is so relaxing & just a short 10 minutes bus drive to Fussen, from where you can get to the castles, Would recommend this friendly guesthouse to families & couples a like. You can get here by public transport from Munich Airport. The family who run the pension are so helpful & provide walking sticks & you can book a packed lunch if you want to head off for a walk. There are so many lovely walks &bike trails & the lake is safe to swim in too. Great value place to stay, much cheaper than Fussen

Lovely Relaxing Pension in beautiful location

Mrs. Bauman was an excellent host. We were given Königcards which entitled is to several activities for free including a cable car ride to the top of a mountain. Our first night she suggested nearby Alatsee Lake which was amazingly peaceful with a wonderful restaurant away from the crowds. Perfect after a long drive. And the breakfast buffet (included) was extensive and delicious.

Better than expected!

This was a very nice pension.  We were on the second floor (3rd depending on where you're from) and had a nice balcony with a view of the lake and mountains.  The rooms were nicely decorated and the beds comfortable.  My only complaint was that the pillows were a little flat.  The bathroom had recently been remodeled and was very nice.  Each room has their own balcony but you can see your neighbors if sitting outside.  It is a non-smoking facility but allows smoking outside on the balconies.  I am very sensitive to cigarette smoke but did not have any issues.  The breakfast was a standard breakfast you would expect but provided different versions of eggs each morning.  One morning was scrambled eggs with meat, another was fried eggs and another morning was boiled eggs.  We did have issues with the internet connection and had to keep reconnecting as well.  We actually arrived later than the specified check in time but we called beforehand and they were great about letting us check in a little later.  It is located about 15 minutes from the castles but is an easy drive.  It is also located off a small road that can seem busy/noisy during the day but we did not notice it at night.  We even slept with our windows open and did not hear the vehicles until we woke up the next morning.  They also have umbrellas, walking sticks and backpacks in the entry if you need to borrow them while staying.  Everyone was very helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again if we visit this area.
