I really do not understand the poor reviews by other people.  We stayed here about 3 years ago and found the place very nice.  (so we returned again)  We had the room on the 3rd floor it was quite large with a separate kitchenette and small dining room.  Room was huge by European standards.  There was a coffee maker in the room which came in handy.  Seems like a mom and pop run hotel.  The gardens outside were well kept.  It is a 15 min walk to downtown which was no big deal.  The lady that runs the place was very nice and friendly.   There was free wifi and it was pretty good.

The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, with balcony, comfortable beds, excellent breakfast, the host family very kind and hospitable. I felt comfortable around and when I get around again, I'll rent myself out there again.

Wonderful Accommodation With Lovely Hosts

At the beginning of April, I was with a few friends as a recreator for a stroll in Garmisch. The accommodation is well situated for this - we were already out of the hustle and bustle in a few minutes. For our train trip at 5 a.m. we were able to strengthen ourselves with a delicious breakfast - thank you again for the reinforcement and the good tips dear Hofer family! Unfortunately, since only breakfast is offered, we had a late evening at the nearby restaurant Breuwastl at a convenient breakfast time and a couple of high-quality bayer beers. Also highly recommended.

Walking days in the world of rocks

First of all, I have to start by saying that we went there out of necessity; we had found out a few days before that we would not be working on December 31, so we had to take what we found. Still, they demanded a huge sum from us for a bad bedroom with very thin walls. We could barely talk without disturbing the guests in the next room, the bathroom was separated from the rest of the room by a curtain, and there were two beds, as described, but to each other, otherwise it would have been impossible to move around. The breakfast looked pretty poor, and the lady couldn't really be nice to him or not be nice to him. This piece of house is quite far from the city center. If you really had a car to come around here, it would have taken a lot of money and it would have been a very difficult experience for us to get a much lighter service.

I'm not going back in there.

This said, they asked us an enormous amount for a poor bedroom, with walls so thin you could barely talk without disturbing the noeghbouring room, the bathroom was separated from the rest of the room by a curtain and there were two bed as written, but in a line, cause otherwise it would have been impossible to move. The breakfast qas quite poor and the lady was not exactly warming or nice to us. The house is quite far from the city center, if you don't have a car it really takes a while to get there. Very bad experience, too much money spent for a very bad service.

No return here

We stayed two nights in this New Year's facility. The atmosphere is very familiar and the lady who runs the hotel was very friendly, friendly and friendly. Our room was very large, as was the bathroom and everywhere there was cleanliness and order. Breakfast was varied and abundant and the lady always made sure that we had enough food. We found a small gift for the first of the year in the room and we appreciated this simple but nice gesture. The facility is in a quiet position, but close to the center, in fact a couple of times we opted to reach the center on foot (15 minutes). Unfortunately there is no internet connection in the facility and the one point that was opened in Garmisch the first of the year the service is only until 11:30 am and it was not possible to use this service at a high price.

Family environment

Overall, the stay was fine for us, unfortunately there was no sauna or the like nearby.The public hall bath would have been too far on foot. Breakfast was plenty and we could even have plenty of breakfast before our mountain tour (starting at 6.00am).Beds were fine, unfortunately no TV or radio.

One of the worst Guesthouse we’ve stayed in Germany. Really not worth the prince we paid for it. In one word : not professional. 

As a greeting we had a post-it on the door with a phone number. We waited 45 min at the door for the guy to return, who hardly excused. Very poor decoration in the rooms,  bed sheets and pillows haven’t been replaced for ages, and towels in the bathroom are simply cut into two towels (to have more towels ? ) or stolen (branded with another hotel’s name !).  Nice balcony … but the view is hidden behind huge pine trees (the garden is a jungle no one cared of for years) and with broken chairs, repaired with scotch tape. 
This could be somewhat typical if we didn’t pay … 130 € a night for this (3 people) ! For example we could have afford the 3* Best Western hotel for roughly the same price (20€ more a night) !! But I wanted something typical …wrong choice. 
At the last day : as no one shew up during the breakfast, we thought the host had already all the data he needed for payment (as it is often the case with booking, where I left all my VISA details , address , tel & co ). So we started putting our luggage in the car, when the guy screamed in the street “you must pay”, as if we were just thiefs … !  
Extremely unpleasant and not professional. 
Most surprising : the guy did send me a mail after reading my ratings on Booking.com to suggest not to come again !!…. not professional indeed…again. 
No wonder this guesthouse was empty in the middle of August, I should have read the comments before, who mainly reflect my opinion by the way. 

Still, 2 positive points: well-furnished breakfast and nice location in Garmisch (15 min walk from town center). 

So I believe this Gästehaus is not reflecting the average level in Bavaria, where I lived and travelled a lot, and was always kindly welcomed.
