Altstadt-Hotel Gelnhausen 

This hotel was a great fit for our needs. The area is walking distance to many historical sites, restaurants and shops. The room was clean, well stocked with toiletries, water and a kettle with tea and coffee. There is even a little treat each night left on your pillow. There is a mini-fridge as well. The wifi worked with no issues. Breakfast had everything you would want to get your day going, a European buffet with made-to-order eggs and bacon. The hotel, overall, was quiet and comfortable. The staff were all very cheery and welcoming, though they were not available during the day and getting access mid-day when we arrived was a bit tricky. Parking is available off-site through the hotel, but most times the parking at the centre market was fine for no fee. (Not sure if this might be a different situation in the summer.) If I was to return to the area I would not look for another place to stay; I would book here again. It may be worth noting that very little English is spoken in the community, so if required, ask staff any questions you may have before heading out. There are not even any English tours through the Tourism Office. Do ask the hotel for an English walking tour brochure.
