The hotel is located in the good spot of city center, but not in the noisy and crowded neighborhood. 
The hotel itself is very nice and cozy. Staff is friendly. Everything is clean and comfortable. The room is big and light. It has a big windows, so the room get a lot of daylight. 
There was a super comfortable bed, with perfect pillows and big blanket. The mattress is super good to sleep too. We really enjoyed the quality sleep at this hotel. 
Also it was nice to have some coffee and tea every day in the room. 
We definitely will stay at this hotel again, once we are in Gießen.

Cozy place in the city center

It's not easy to find, even though it's on the main road, you turn around and drive to the hotel from behind, enough parking, but rarely have you had such a good breakfast and thank you for the homemade jam.

It's a great breakfast.

Poorly run, bed was very uncomfortable, very soft. They charged my card the full amount as a "pre-authorisation". They would not refund until I got Bookings.com involved to sort this out. There was no kettle for hot water or tea/coffee. No fridge no basics.

Needs modernisation

After a friendly reception, we found that our mattresses did not meet the hygienic requirements and were upgraded, a suite that was unmatched in comfort with our original room, because of our complaint.

Dirty mattresses and lying waiters

The hotel is located in a very convenient location, is clean and attractive with a young, very dynamic team. You like to buy a certain noise level that cannot be avoided in this top location. Thank you for the nice stay!

Overall impression very good

The hotel is simple, partly very purist. The beds are ok, the bathroom is clean, the towels are fresh. You could improve details or you could completely renovate. No goes for me are the open cables, faulty cable shafts and an old, sticky remote control. The paint of the night table is bursting. It could be improved for a little bit of money😜The staff is very friendly👍Prices seemed high in class, but it seems to be regional.

A short stay is fine.

I attended a conference at JLU, Giessen, and decided to stay at the Hotel Alt Giessen. It is well located, near downtown and the University. The room I stayed was pretty clean, with a large window and lots of space. Wi-fi worked pretty well. Staff was very friendly. There is a nice restaurant at the ground floor offering good beer and great German food! I recommend this hotel! // I attended a conference at Justus-Liebig University, Giessen, and decided to stay at the Altvi Giessen hotel. The hotel is well located, close to the center and the university campus. My suite was spacious, very clean and with a large window (which the pen was for a construction). The Wi-Fi connection was fast and a great signal.

Nice Hotel

Nice employees who seem to still enjoy the job. I've been to the hotel many times and would always like to book there. You can also spend a nice evening in the ground floor inn.

Recommended value

The hotel has a beer garden with its own brewery and has a very good road connection. The car park in the courtyard was large enough. The walking path to the city centre is convenient to reach. Numerous shops, cinemas, ice cream parlors, Irish pubs, etc. are easily accessible on foot.

Good hotel in good condition.

The hotel is very good, the staff is very friendly and extremely hardworking. The internet is okay. The mattresses are very good. It's all a little loud because of the tile floor and my roommate was very loud (sometimes you just get lucky!). The breakfast is very good and it changes a little from day to day.
