Hotel Restaurant Birkenhof 

We booked this on the internet because of the price and the out of town location on our way down to the Austria Alps. It is not directly on any main road but it is well worth a visit. We arrived about 4:30pm on two motorbikes after a 300 mile trip from the Chunnel, we were immediately directed to put our bikes in their garage and then we sat outside for an hour drinking a few cold beers. The hotel owner and his family could not speak much English but we were made very welcome and shown to our rooms. Our room had just been refurbished in a modern style and it was huge with a balcony, walk in shower, sofa and two lovely beds. We ate outside that night with Steak and chips all round followed by quite a lot more beers. In the morning we sat down in the restaurant with the family for breakfast as most of the other guests were tradesmen had all ready left for work. When we left the owner could not get his credit card m/c to work so we were told to leave and "pay me later". The bill for one night, 2 meals and 2 breakfasts and about a dozen beers was 102 euros, absolute bargain!. The Hotal is well placed at the top left of the B500 and we will defineatly stay agin next time we pass. ps. We paid by Bank Transfer when we got back!
