Great weekend 

When my husband works in Grossenbrode we stay at Ostsee Hotel because it is right on the water. With him gone all day I have options (no car) on how I spend the day. The breakfast is very good with lots of choices. The room and grounds are very clean. The staff is helpful and observant of what their guests need to be comfortable. There are a few restaurants, stores, and a market next to the hotel. The beach, pier and jetty are great for all day activities.  Coming from another "larger" city to here was very refreshing and I had no worries of safety. A couple of drawbacks for me - I don't speak German and they speak very little English. Also, you have to pay for Internet and it is strong in the lobby and OK in the rooms. I wish they had a laundromat for guests as we stay in Europe several weeks. Local shops only take cash. (Not a hotel issue.) I walked everyday several miles along the shore and totally enjoyed our stay here.

Great little hotel for relaxing.

A nice big, clean room, with plenty of seating, and a little cooker. You could cook for yourself if you wanted to.

We were there for a wedding and arrived a little early for check in. There was no chance of checking in even slightly early so we met up with some of the party, and almost missed checking in because they finish again quite early, around 7 (we were told).

Great breakfast choice, and friendly staff though. Grossenbrode itself isn't the heart of the teeming metropolis, so don't expect partying crowds, or the bars to stay open. Lovely location for family holidays, though. Remember the weather there is quite variable so even in early September  it can be rainy, and then there's not a lot to do in the area.

Nice room, don't be late though!

I recently spent the Easter weekend here at the Ostsee from April 22nd until April 25th.  This hotel is located perfectly near the ocean.  All rooms have a balcony which enables the guest to enjoy the sight and sound of the ocean. Being from the Carribean, this was true joy for me.  Made me feel at home minus the palm trees.   The staff was very professional.  I wish to compliment Herr Bernd Reimers (front desk/Hotel manager) for his great customer care.  The Breakfast was excellant .  They even had a waffle machine !  Great sauna as well.  I do have to say that there are not too many options as it applies fro evening dinner.  The Hotel does not have a dinner restaurant but there are 2 or 3 restaurants nearby.  You might have to make reservations early as many folks visiting eat there as well.  There is a nearby  dance Pub named "Mckenzie".  I was overdressed when I walked in (I had a jacket, jeans & a white shirt ).  Folks were msotly wearing Jack Wolfskin sweaters, Glock shoes, sandals....etc, etc.   The music was terrible & folks were smoking cigarettes inside the establishment.  I'm assuming that the no smoking ban inside bar/restaurant locations has not caught up with this part of Germany. If you wish to seek nice restaurants and enjoy a more "Miami" type of atmosphere, drive 35 minutes south to Timmindorfer Strand.  Overall, this Hotel is excellant & I plan to return again.
