We had a very nice stay over the Easter holidays 2024. We selected cottage 399 which is close to the fields behind the complex because we wanted to run our dogs. It was ideal but, due to the recent wet weather, there was plenty of mud and therefore plenty of dog washing, cleaning and drying. The cottage was very nice without any major faults and fully met our expectations. As for service, all the staff we met were friendly, helpful, efficient and, a plus for us, spoke English. We called for help twice at the cottage: we thought one of the radiators in a bedroom did not work on the first night. Actually, it did work, but the maintenance man came within an hour of us calling and was not upset when he realised his visit was not necessary. On the evening before we left, the dishwasher would not work because of no salt. After we called reception, housekeeping brought us salt within the hour.
The swimming pool and changing areas were clean and never too crowded. We had the buffet meal one of the nights and it was value for money. The onsite supermarket is
adequately stocked and was not overly expensive.
The area around Center Parcs Eifel is well worth exploring. We did a super bicyling ride in the local area (Sassen, Aussichtsturm Eifelguck, Mannebach and back to Gunderach) and on an another day, by car, we visited the Volcanic Lakes in the region and the wonderful town of Monreal.
Tips: If you can, to save some costs, bring your own breakfast foods, biscuits, fruit etc. Also your own bicycles, towels, bed linen (if not in your package) AND toilet rolls!

Pleasant stay in Center Parc Eifel

If you are a family with under 12s - this place is perfect.  If you have teenagers - there's not much to do on-site.

You will definitely need a car as the site is in the middle of nowhere with next to zero public transport.  Taxis are almost non-existent and very expensive.

Accommodation is excellent - staff are helpful.  Great location to tour around the Eifel.  Many cheap supermarkets 5 mins drive away in Ulmen.



It's a great holiday location for young families

Bad food. Bad service. No kids animation. 
If you want to have a bad vacation, go to Park Eifel!
Let me explain:

We came all the way from Bulgaria hoping for a great family vacation with our 1.6y old baby, but we are extremely disappointed. I am writing this on our 4th day here, unfortunately we have to stay another 3 days to wait for our flight. Never again are we visiting Center Parcs and we recommend you to read through our review so you can understand what you can expect.

Bad food:
The food during breakfast and dinner is a joke. Maybe their chef is really young and has no experience. Or was not able to find a job somewhere else. But this is the lowest quality food we have seen in a hotel and we paid 600 euro for a breakfast+dinner package. Do not, I repeat, do not buy this package! You are better off to buy stuff from the supermarket and cook at home, it will be much better.

Bad service:

Customer service is a joke. 
Check-in:  we didnt know where to check-in and we landed at the info desk while it rains. I was checked-in but I was told that the luggage should be left at the parking gate and so I had to push all our luggage in the rain to that place. As I went there, the people who worked there, never heard of this before: they were surprised when I asked if I can leave my luggage there until the room is ready. They put our luggage in some little room, unguarded. 
Of course, when the room was ready, I had to go back there and push our luggage about 1km to the house, a wonderful feeling to feel so welcome that nobody even helps you with your luggage when you come in. 

Dinner stupidity: the info desk lady forgot to tell us that we need a reservation for every dinner so on the first evening when we went for dinner, we were told there is no space and we have to wait for them to find a table. A great feeling for our first evening at this terrible park. 
Another absolutely stupid management mistake is that everyone should wait in line to get to dinner. So if your slot for dinner is from 17-18:30, at 17:00 all the people form a long line and we had to wait 27 and a record 35 minutes the second day, to get to our table. When I asked them what is the reason they do this stupid thing to let people wait, nobody says anything, they even get angry at you for asking a simple question.
So, expect to wait very long to get to dinner to eat mediocre food for 600 euro per week!

Toilet paper is a luxury: Also, Center Parcs is such a wonderful company, they only provide you with 1 toilet paper for the whole week, you should buy more if you need it. Again, for that price, I expect at least some toilet paper in the room, I am sorry I am so spoiled to even expect that!!

Staff quality of service:  today it rained heavily in the morning so I ran to breakfast but it seems I forgot the almighty wristband (although I have paid for breakfast). I asked at info desk if that is not a problem, of course, they “dont know, not their responsibility”, so when I asked at the breakfast reception( yes, you have to check-in for breakfast, if you just walk-in, staff will be reminding you it is not allowed!!), I was refused access to breakfast without the wristband. I was asked to go back in the rain to the house on the other side of the parc, to bring the wristband. I went on to buy food from the supermarket and I am not going to eat the pathetic breakfast I paid for.
To the poor management of this place: you should be ashamed of your work and if I was working at Center Parcs on a higher level, I would definitely fire you on the spot today.

Animation ( or the lack of it ): this is a family place and so we were spoiled enough to expect some kids animation, but there is none. Ok, a 30-min “kids disco” they have. For the rest, there are 0 activities organized from the management. Everything else is paid and you do on your own, not as a group. This is very disappointing. 
I suggest to the management to go to Turkey/Antalya for one season, to experience what kids animation really means.

On a positive not, our VIP cottage is a nicely renovated house. But that is all positive I can say about the park.

To sum up: for this kind of money, you are way better off to go somewhere else than to Center Parcs / Park Eifel. Save your vacation and do not come here.

Bad food. Bad service. No animation. Do not book here.

Really disappointed with the VIP cottage. 

The carpet was extremely dirty and smelly. Overall I felt so gross staying in there, so much that I wanted to leave the next day. 

First day the water heater was not working and had to be fixed. Repair guy came to fix it in with his muddy boots inside and walked everywhere on the carpet. 

I got everyone to keep their socks on while inside, and they were all brown by the end of the day. Simply disgusting.

Stale bread delivered every morning that mostly ended in the garbage.

Tried to endure and stayed to enjoy the area, fortunately we had only booked 4 nights.

My first and last Central Park experience.

Very dirty and smelly

Generally the worse accommodation local, I am really not happy with the quality of the accommodation provided for the price we paid, the accommodation has a broken shower door, black mold on the bathroom ceiling, paint peeling, AC doesn’t work, broken tile in the kitchen which is sharp as well as a broken leg on the bed. Cleanliness is extremely poor which cob webs and black stains on the walls. Even the hinge on the bedroom door is broken. 

I have stayed at many centre parcs and this is by far the worse experience I have had.

Try elsewhere

My husband and myself took our three children for a four night stay at Center Parcs Eifel in Germany.
We bought an all inclusive package which meant we were entitled to use several facilities and utilize restaurants as part of the package. Most of the facilities were closed and we were forced to use only one of the five restaurants we were supposed to have access to for lunch because the others were closed or their hours of operations limited to hours we could not utilize them. The buffet dinners were terrible and the food was not good at all. The place we were forced to have lunch, The market cafe, we had to wait almost 1.5 hours for our main courses to arrive and the waitress was rude and unfriendly. We really wanted the kids to have a lovely holiday but we all left disappointed and will never go back to that place. A huge waste of money!!

Expensive and not worth the money

Spend a long weekend here with friends. Had a house right at the edge of the park, so we walked right into nature. It was nice and quiet. The houses need a revamp as they are old fashioned. Supermarket is a bit small and expensive. But overall you get a holiday being here and that's what matters

Good location, houses need update

We have just returned from our trip - a family with one kid. As many of us I have read some negative feedbacks and my expectations were not high. However I was very much positively impressed. Everything was very well organized in terms of Corona-safety. We could take part in all entertainments, booked in advance. The stuff is good and friendly. The kitchen at the main restaurant was even delicious - we had two dinners. For those who doesn’t like to cook I would recommend to eat there - it worth that money. The territory is huge, beautiful and well-cared. The accommodation, frankly speaking, could be better. Especially toilet and bathroom looked very old-fashioned. However clean enough. The furniture wad also old, but still ok. The mattresses and pillows should be replaced. In general we are happy with our staying in Eifel and will recommend it to our friends. 
This type of vacation is definitely not for those who used to rest sitting in fashionable 5* hotels. It is more close to nature and outdoor activities.

Autumn spirits

VIP cottage was very basic. We needed a bed on the same floor as the bathrooms which they would not do so we did it ourselves.  The whole place needs a real overhaul.  Park facilities poor and customer service non existent to poor. Food delivery service only happens on weekends but this is not clear on the website. Very impressed with kitchen equipment. We paid for extra WiFi but it did not work.  Too many cars driving around which is not safe.

Disappointed

We’ve stayed at other Center Parcs and we were pleasantly surprised. Eifel was a disappointment. The cottages are old, poorly lit and in need a of a renovation. The baby bed was gross! It was very cold when we arrived and it took a whole day to be warm enough. 
In the main building, the food court food is barely edible. A lot of fried stuff, little choice of side dishes, overall not very healthy options. The majority of the staff was unfriendly and didn't speak English or it was very minimal (except for the woman checking people in to the dinner buffet.She was smiley and nice.) 
There was a lady checking people in to the breakfast buffet that clearly favored German speaking people over other nationalities. Her facial expression immediately changed into bitter and followed by a rude attitude when realizing you're not German.We felt discriminated!
The Aqua Mundo swim area is real small and the outside pool too. At the kid factory play center the activities are pay for each. The two trampolines are set up to where they won’t bounce unless you pay 1 euro for 6 minutes.

Overall, we were disappointed and didn't have a good time. I don't recommend this place to anyone.
