If I were to buy a house in Hamburg then in Heimhuderstrasse, where this hotel is located. It is one of the city's most magnificent and wealthy streets packed with 19th century townhouses. It's walking distance from the historic center of Hamburg and the Dammtor train station. Yet the street is wonderfully quiet. The Stilwerk Hotel Heimhude is run like a top-notch family hotel. The rooms are modern, specious and the beds not only have excellent mattresses but also top quality pillows and sheets. The bathrooms have high-end fittings. Everything was immaculately clean. The staff are unfailingly friendly and helpful. Breakfast cost varies with what you eat. When I only took a croissant and marmalade the kind lady at the desk laughed and said "that's on the house." For those who want more they make fresh eggs for just 4 euros. (Here there are no eggs cooked hours ago.) For three nights my wife and I paid just 584 euros -- truly a bargain. We shall go back.
