But, it was perfectly fine for a Stag do or a lads weekend away. Yes, it was a bit grubby in places (our shower head wouldn't stand upright so it had to be taken off the bracket to work; the toilet seat moved when you sat on it), but these aren't things that you look for when you're simply using the room as a place to sleep.

We had a triple room but only two of us (would have been quite a squash with three), and towels were provided (appeared clean, though I didnt inspect them at any great length). Bed was clean, and to be honest the mattress was lovely. It did get quite warm in the room (no air-con), so you had to open up the massive window...and it opened up fully, so if you prone to sleep-walking then be careful as you may just thrown yourself out of it. With the window open the room cooled down, but there was quite a bit of noise at you're on the Reeperbahn...and the bloody bin lorry came and took away all the bottles at around 5am!

For the price that was paid, and we booked it on the day we arrived, it worked out at total of £220 (£110 each for three nights, or with three people it would have been £70 each for three nights). Cant really complain at that price as you know what you're going to get.

And great location too. Right on the Reeperbahn, with a number of very busy bars right by the hotel (and not far from the ladies of the night as well).

Would stay there again with the lads/on a Stag Do, but I don't think my Mrs would be happy.

Not one for a romantic weekend away.....

What a superb place 10/10. The phantom receptionist was always very helpful. Junkies outside smoking crack and we left our door open all weekend and nothing was stolen. Would definately come back with the wife and the wains.

What an excellent hotel

When we first arrived at the hotel, there were two homeless people spark out face down right in front of the front door. First impressions weren't good, as soon as we walked in the building it reminded me of An Idiot Abroad, I thought Ricky Gervais had booked the hotel for us because it was like somewhere he would send Karl Pilkington! It was more like a hostel than than a hotel, it was very dated and it looked like it hadn't been done up since the 60s!

The person on reception was very pleasant and polite, but that was probably the only decent thing about this hotel. The room was not nice at all. It was dirty, the sheets had stains on them and didn't look to have been cleaned properly for a long time. The shower barely worked and was also dirty. We also didn't have any clean towels at all during out stay, we had to use the same one for three days in a row. The sheets weren't change at all either.

The location is the best thing about this hotel as it is right in the heart of the Reeperbahn and the train/underground stations are very close by. You can get the train directly from the airport to the Reeperbahn and it takes less than five minutes to walk to the hotel from the station.

If you are looking for a cheap hotel in a good location and have no standards, then this is for  you. If you prefer a hotel that provides fresh towels, sheets that aren't covered in other people's bodily fluids, and is clean then I suggest paying a few more Euros elsewhere. You really do get what you pay for. To say that this hotel is basic is an understatement. Some people don't mind that and will sleep anywhere as long as it's cheap. I personally would never go back.

Not good at all

Clean basic room. There are lots of stairs to negotiate before you get to your room. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and were very helpfully throughout our stay. We stayed Tuesday to Thursday so quieter, room away from the street have less noise or flicking lights. Location is excellent for access to red-light district, bars and restaurants are on your doorstep and the S3 or U3 for rail travel is very close by. It's about  a 10 minutes walk to the harbour.

Basic but excellent service

This hotel is basic but if you're on a stag do then it's the best!

It's situated on the middle of the strip, right between a brothel and the strippers. There are numerous bars on either side and plenty of places to eat & It's a 2 minute walk to the Metro.

The guy on reception was great, he gave us an entire floor for our stay and gave us plenty of info on where to go.

The only downfall to this hotel is that there is no lift and if you get put on the top floor like we were, then there is 82 steps between you and your room. Apart from that, this is a great hotel for what you need in Hamburg. 

P.S. There have been reviews about this hotel being too loud because of the nightclubs. I can honestly say I slept with no disturbance from them.
