Warm & cosy family hotel with excellent dining options 
The staff & owners were helpfull & very polite. Lots of great sightseeing in the surrounding area - especially the childrens amusement park for children age 2-6.
We hope to come back next year

I think this may be a family run hotel but I am not sure if the family really care about their guests. I agree with the previous review there was certainly no warm family welcome just this "stern" not very welcoming man. We loved where the hotel was situated, a beautiful location but really let down by unwelcoming staff and/or lack of staff. We would not return either but dont think they would be unduly worried as I think it is used by plenty of walkers.

We arrived here in the heat of the day to be met by a rather stern chap who although could see both husband & i were struggling with baggage marched us through the lobby/restaurant telling us the restaurant & bar were closed due to a party( with no help whatsoever!), & that we could eat in town. We did have a clue as the marquee on the lawn sort of indicated the imminent setting up of a function. It turned out that not only did they have a wedding booked complete with disco but also a party complete with a live band!!! We had NOT been told of this prior to arrival.

The room on the 1st floor was nice, clean, with a lovely balcony (overlooking the marquee), TV was a tad small but hey we were not there to watch TV, bathroom was clean & nice size, however the radiator was on which was a bit overwhelming!! 

Breakfast was a nice buffet style layout (serve yourself) with no staff around at all.
The wedding & birthday party were in full swing when we arrived back after eating in town as instructed - (on the sat) the fireworks at 10.00 were lovely, HOWEVER the music carrying on till 3.30 AM was not!!!! with no air con we had to leave the balcony door open (even shut we could still hear the VERY LOUD music).  No staff around on sun am more interested in the wedding breakfast party.  In the pm we arrived back to hopefully book into the restaurant for our last & hopefully relaxing night, to be informed no restaurant, no bar... all closed! We ate in town! returned to find no staff & reception locked & a number of new guests (from Norway) arriving who had not a clue what to do ... so they left!!!

All in all nice hotel perhaps check before you book if there are any functions & if the facilities are open, great shame about the LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE & FOCUS TO HOTEL GUESTS- this was not a cheap hotel!!!! will not be returning

What a nice find on last-minute notice!  Big, clean rooms - quiet also, very hospitable staff and plenty of parking.  Though a bit outside the center of Hann. Münden, it is a good location for exploring the beautiful Werra and Fulda river valleys and visiting the town.  I can recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for great value and a good nights sleep!

Nice Find!

We stayed here for 4 days in January with snow blanketing the surrounding forest. Walking on the numerous trails through the preserve was like being in a winter wonderland. Great location if you like hiking and  enjoy nature. The hotel just reopened after remodeling and refurnishing the rooms. The service was intermittent since it was off season and not many guest were staying here. So the restaurant was open just a few hours, but the food was very good. Some of the staff members could benefit from customer relation improvements.
