This small hotel is a cosy place on the edge of the forest of the "Weser Valley ".The food is good and the staff is friendly and helpful.The Autobahn to Hannover is situated only a couple of kilometres away.I visited this place with my Familie for lunch as it was recommended by friends and I was not disappointed and would definitely visit it again.

A ideal place for a relaxing weekend.

The beer and food at the hotel surpassed our expectations and the staff and ourselves grew to understand each other despite my limited German! Absolutely beautiful countryside surrounds the hotel and nothing was more relaxing than a beer by the waterwheel. The room was clean and characterful and breakfast was yummy. Will be back for HO2017

VW show visit

I cant write a review as a our booking was cancelled by the hotel at 2pm as we were travelling there. The reason given was they hadnt a wheelchair accessible room  which they say I had requested when booking in February for our August visit. I hadnt, just asked for a ground floor room or near a  lift if available - I can do stairs but prefer not to if possible. They said an alternative had been booked for us at a friends hotel up the road but we said it might  be ok for one night and would look when we arrived. We were told it was all organised and that was that, even when we were protested it was more expensive, we were told they had come to an arrangement to pay the difference for us.  We turned up to check the details of the change, intending to look at the room,  and found the carpark full and  a wedding in full swing. We became more suspicious when not encouraged to even get out of the car Mmmmm!!

Disappointing

The best place ever.  Nicest people there, the service and food was authentic.  Listening to the water wheel was very relaxing too.  We can't wait to go back there. They also have birds near the waterfall.  We happened to be there during the festival for the waterwheel, it was fun to watch everyone working together.  But we were there for the VW show in Hessisch Oldendorf.

a taste of Germany

We booked the Weinschänke on our trip to cross Germany from North to South - the last night we had spent at the very stylish Scandic Emporio in Hamburg, so it was quite a change with the Weinschänke.
Still, nothing to complain. The hotel is easy to find following the navigation system, situated near a small river in a quite romantic setting. We found the service personnel quite friendly, the room and bath spacious and clean. As we had seen a sign for a public pool in walking distance and needed to cool off during the hot summer of 2013, we headed off and enjoyed some refreshing hours among the local youth.
Dinner at the hotel was nice, with large and very tasty portions (as an Austrian, I have a certain prejudice against German food) and good beer (the prejudice against German wine was too strong, so we stayed with the safe option).

We slept well and headed off happily.
